Frustration with 'Presidebt'-bashers

United States

(Please note--this is with either party) Currently there is a LOT of whining about the current President. There was a lot of whining about the last seven or eight Presidents! Instead of complaining, why doesn't everyone work towards finding and grooming a candidate that they like? Expend your energies on vetting that ideal candidate and don't forget to eliminate (or at least minimize) any potential skeletons! ;) Our current President had visions of being this country's 'super man'; that is, he tried to fix too much too fast. Baby steps. Let's again rally as one--we caught Osama, but it was nearly a nonevent. We are a fickle country... So my questions are: who do you want to see as president and why?

Currently I like Ron Paul and Herman Cain. I do not agree 100% with these guys but they are closest to my ideals. I would like to see the US go back to a free society and let Capitalism flourish.

When did our society cease to be free, and when did capitalism fail? Please explain how you drew these conclusions.

Just one instance that our society is losing freedom - The Patriot Act Capitalism - Government bail outs, the government being the largest employer in the country

Laglen, we let "Capitalism flourish" under GWB, and look where that got us. The reason that the government has to hire people is because corporations won't. Yet they are sitting on TRILLIONS of dollars they made during the recession. Our country has always flourished when we have a perfect mixture of capitalism, and socialism. A majority of either destroys the country.

I do not consider it bashing when I criticize his policies or his programs. It is my civic duty to criticize and question those things I object to. I want to see smaller government and lower spending.

If you are truly questioning and criticizing his policies, that's one thing, but many of the people I'm referring to just whine (it seems) for the sake of whining. Let's suppose he decided to cut the size of government--what would be your first suggestion and why? Could it legitimately work?
