Increased Writing Time

I am so excited. Finally some additional time to write. It seems that summer time for my family is a great time for me to get some additional writing in. I can get up at my normal time and actually sit down to write.
This of course is due to children being on summer break. It is nice having the extra time to do one of my favorite pass times. With so many things going on in our lives, it is always nice when we can find time to do what we love doing.

My daughter is also having her term break, this time for a month. Although I do not need to rush in the morning, but often I will waste a lot of time attending to her. Maybe your children are older so they could do their own things while you write. That's wonderful!
I have not been writing a lot since I have been caught up with work and its never-ending pressures. I have also been reading instead of writing much. I would love to get back to writing pretty soon. I just submitted some articles I have written, but did not have the time to submit them. I think I would get back on the writing track.

When you are out with your daughter doing things, grab a few minutes here and there to journal. It is a great way to write down article ideas and such. If you are at a doctor's office, she has some sort of practice, take the time while there to write. It will help you to get back on track.

I do try to do that. If she is not hogging on my computer and decided to play with her own toys, I do get a chance to come to mylot and comment on discussions and do a bit of writing. Good thing is that I can work from home, but there are times when I just want to be at the office so I get concentrated work time.
But I also want to spend more time with her during the school holidays. The dilemmas of a working mum. Haiz!

Yeah I feel great too when I am able to do what I want.. Unfortunately time wouldn't allow me. Like others my job sucked up my energy everyday. So whenever I reached home I feel so tired and wanted to sleep, no matter what season it is. In my job seldom got its break. YOu can take a break when you're terribly sick.

One thing that you need to remember is to schedule time for you. In the beginning it is difficult because you might feel guilty, but don't you have to do things for yourself. I've been told that you need to take care of yourself first at times and be selfish.
I use a day planner and write in appointments for myself. I then have to make myself keep them. If I don't, then I feel guilty and get mad, just like I would if I missed another appointment. I find that by writing it down as an appointment, I will keep it and remember that it is something that I need to do.

Hi Chulce, most people do not have much time to write during summers, you are the exception.
Some parents have more to do when children are on school holidays.
I guess your kids are relatively well behaved, and do not mess up the house for you.
It is good to have more time to write, since you love writing so much.
I guess the extra income is much appreciated too.
I have lesser time to write, since my current job sucks most energy out of me.
By the time I reach home, I could barely remember who I am!

Sorry for the late response. I'm kind of lucky in the aspect that I have teenagers, so they are off doing their own things. Plus the fact that they sleep in where as I am up usually by 5AM that way I can write a bit before going to work when it is still nice and quiet.

Thanks so much, I truly appreciate it. However, I do wish I could find different ways to write more on mylot, however, being a freelance writer, I have to go where I can get paid that means, looking in other directions.
Mylot is a great place for beginning writers to work on sentence building and structure and also coming up with good solid title ideas.
I hope this is helpful to those getting into the writing field.

I love writing too, Chulce, and spend far too long doing it most days! I don't really care what I write about as all subjects interest me. I write poetry and silly verse if the mood takes me, and I am writing another 2 spiritual books, having already published one.
What do you write about?

That is wonderful. I honestly wish I had more time to write. There are times, when I get a book idea and can't actually sit down to get the whole idea on paper or the computer because something else will get in the way. I am hoping that eventually, I can take an entire day or so, to write a book and get it published myself. I have been trying for so long, it is amazing.
