Good topic I felt extreme sadness for the victims of the tsunami and wondered why them and not others. Tragedies like that should make us stop and think and appreciate life. It should also help us to over look our petty grievances and place more importance on what is worthwhile in life.

Well for me, I never understood as much of Japan, let alone watching a news network. I would end up trying to watch anime, like I used to, but after the earthquake in Japan, I was getting interesting to learn about Japan by watching NHK World almost daily, if the cable company or the network that is broadcasting NHK World quit screwing the channel!

God has given the human beings a good gift that is to forget anything happening in their lives, good or bad, in short time. You see a man on the road and wonder how this man without legs can laugh, but that is god's gift you can't b4e permanently happy or sad. Similarly you can't remain with particular feelings for long. I did feel as you say, that this world is most unpredictable and can change any minute, immediately after Japan tsunami but now everything is normal and life goes on as if nothing has happened. This will go on until the next such event which will shake this world again.

How did it change my perspective? Not at all! I guess things that I heard about on the news don't affect me until they are on my doorstep.
