While none of the cricketers are complaining (except for occasional expression of opinion by few) do we need to really debate about over-worked cricketers?

the players will eventually get tired if they play so much cricket and therefore i think its necessary to look into this concern and try to solve it out, the only thing which has resulted in a boon is that other players will get more chances and thats good for the future but this can bring down the present.

Exactly! the very reason the players are not complaining is because they are overwhelmed by the heap of money they are making. But on the long run it will be detrimental to their health as well as the health of the game. But the question is who will bell the cat?

yes, for any field debate is good part to modify the system so system remain healthy. For over working cricketer, they can take rest anytime, Every team good backup for main players. Like this series of INDIA and West indies , Where India's new players get chance to play for India team ans show there performance. And By this rotation Senior player get rest.

This is a problem more with Indian cricketers than those from any other country. Our board, the BCCI is the richest board in the world, but they are also the greediest board in the world. So, they schedule far too much cricket, do not rotate players enough, and our guys are over-worked and always carrying niggling injuries. Dhoni made a remark when he reached the West Indies, that the rest had done him a lot of good, all the niggling injuries had vanished. What it means is that they normally play with this kind of injuries. Look at the injury rate of our quick bowlers, and even batsmen. Today, both our regular openers, Sehwag and Gambhir are injured, our best quick bowler Zaheer Khan is injured, Tendulkar is resting, maybe carrying niggling injuries, its a joke!

Though each cricketer, irrespective of whether he is in the team or reserves get his share of salary and gifts, uninterrupted game makes him homesick, feel tired etc which in due course will force him retired early.
