I am from the USA and I hear all the time that people from other countries hate us with a passion and want us all to die... is that true? Does everyone really hate us or no? What do you think of the USA?

well I am from the USA and I travel allot and from what I have seen there is good reason to hate americans they abuse people and have this problem with pushing their goverment on other while lieing to the people that live in america. America is not a free country far from it! We have been lied to and censored for so long we cannot see the truth! Get out of the USA see the truth!!!

We don't push our government on anyone. We only try to help them establish a government in which they can enjoy the freedoms which we have in the US. We Americans can gripe and criticize our Government all we want to but when push comes to shove all we do is talk....we do nothing to make it better. We elect the politicians and if we don't like what they are doing we can use our voting power to kick em out of office. And we can individually change things by changing the constitution.....look at that woman Madalyn what's her name that fought and won the case to amend the constitution to forbid prayer in our schools. Where else in the world can that happen?

How do we abuse people? I dont hear anything about that. How are we not a free country? I can do whatever I want to do. Can you tell me the lies that we have been told? And my last question, if you dont like it then why dont you get the heck out of here?

I don't hate Americans either. I may be a little biased as I'm an American. I don't think I'd ever pick another country even my own and say the opposite, "I really love those Scotsmen, or I love Estonians" Similarly, I don't really pick a country and deside to hate them with the possible exception of Fernando Poo, now there's a miserable country that has caused the world no end of pain and suffering . . .

that is the stupidest thing I have ever hear. Even if there was a democrat president the war would not end. Well I guess now since democrats have got control of the house you can join! Thanks for serving this wonderful country. Btw, are you going to be flying planes. If you join today and are still in it when the next elections come around and the republicans take over you can fly your plane into a building to show your hate for the republicans. ok... what I am trying to say is that I think that is very immature for you to say that because your mom probably raised you as a democrat so you do not want to think for yourself so you just stayed with that party. I dont have anything against you but can you try and tell me why you would hate someone if they are not a democrat. So you hate over half the USA and probably over 90% of the rest of the world because how many democrats are in other countries. So with all this hate you must not have a good life. I am sorry for you and I hope everything works out for you even though you hate the people you are flying for!

america does not go around starting wars on people's soil..they tend to think they are the world-heros and get themselves involved with other people's fighting and tyranny...all other countries are just as meddling and shady as America, America is just more prolific and large due to it's growth and therefore is at the spotlight forefront more or less in violent dealins...everyone should just shut up and realize no one is better

HATE?? No !! Dislike.... somewhat. I have met a lot of "Yanks" (for some reason you dont like being called that?) Most of them are really nice and good people, I have met a few that are like the "Sterotype" American that is what gives your Nation the "Bad Name" that it has, and they were very LOUD and BRASH (Capitals to re-inforce the point) But I dont think I have met anyone that wants you to "Die" You are still a "Young" country, and the policy back in the '30s of Isolationism we dont want again. Someone has to be the Worlds Policeman, and it seems that this Mantle is falling onto the Americans, as the only "Super Power" left in the World. You need to use your "Power" wisely, we Brits made a "mess" of it to a certain extent with our Colonialism, and I can tell you that a lot of people still resent that! It is known as the "Land of the Free" you need to keep it that way! Have a nice day

Speaking about "Yanks". It's said that the name cames from to names from the Netherlands. "Jan" and "kees", pronounced as jankees or yanks. So the dutch are responsable for the name. But don't blame me. It's 300 years or so ago.

yes, americans do tend to think of themselves as something more than the rest of the nations- oh, maybe besides the british- but hey, ur not that cool, u know. anyway, i dont hate americans. i just think they tend to look at themselves as something more than us. by the way, when u discriminate other nations, it just goes to show that ur not that learned. u think lowly of black people or the mexican, it just goes to show u still have a lot more to learn than what u already know...

See this comment right here gets me...I don't clump everyone together. So why do all Americans get clumped together. When I took a trip to the Middle East our bus was attacked in the City of Hebron and some other stuff that took place while we were there....I could have developed a hate or said something or took up an attitude...but I didn't. I went on and enjoyed my trip. When walking in the holy place I covered my head and made sure I was covered like the women over there because of the respect I have for other cultures. We Americans are not all the same so stop saying we are.

I am a US citizen as well and I have lived in and travelled to over 20 countries in this world of ours. While I have heard many people say that they don't like Americans it's not true. It's the government and what it represents that they resent. There have been just as many who have said they like Americans. However, I have to add that I have been ashamed of many American tourists in foreign countries who act as though they were better than their hosts. I have to explain to them that if they were to know them in their own home towns they would have a different opinion. Fortunately for me I have many, many friends in foreign lands and, modestly, I have to admit that I have changed their way of thinking. I could go on all night on this subject but will leave it here.

I don’t hate Americans. I’m not jealous either - FYI mavisbike, dipsethoney and company. But you see that attitude, that other people “SHOULD” be jealous shows the superiority complex and arrogant attitude people from other countries have to deal with all the time. There are nice, reasonable Americans who are willing to recognize the validity of all other nationalities … and then there are those like the above who believe everyone wants to, and ought to be like America. I prefer to hang around with the wiser, more educated and open minded individuals. I’m not too impressed with America’s strong-armed bully “pre-emptive” foreign policy. However anyone who believes that this is reason to kill and terrorize is warped and seriously wrong. It just worsens the world situation. What I do like is that some Americans are eager to learn about other cultures, and can be friendly and open-minded. Sometimes I encounter those who are defensive and hostile to anyone foreign. That sort of behavior turns me off.

sorry, man, I didnt heard that many americans wants to know about cultures of the other countries, or even learn foreign languages. they seems to be worst than old communist countries which had an unique state policy toward other countries, who were treated like "foreign countries", ( stranger or even enemies ). A wise country wouldn't have enemies. Period.

Hi jota ... I'm an Aussie and I don't dislike Americans as individuals, but as a race Yanks are over confident and force their values upon the rest of the world. America needs to take a back step and have a good long look at itself before forcing their ideas/ ideals upon the rest of us. As a whole Americans are loud, forcefull and full of their own self importance.

First we are all races....all races and nationalities live in the United States. Some one once called it the Melting Pot. I take umbrance to the point that we force our values upon the rest of the world. We believe that our government (not the administrations that run it) is the best system for us. We were the first country to have a "Written" constitution and it is the longest running constitution in the world despite the fact that we are only 228 years old. Our government has never been overthrown nor have we had any dictators. What we seek is that other countries can enjoy the same freedoms that we do whether it be a Constitutional Government, a Monarchy, a Sheikdom or whatever.
