Are you a SMART person?

Do you consider yourself a smart person? Do you sometimes feel that you made yourself a fool in front of other people? Do you experience things like failing in making good decisions, and being inadequate in your current position? Are you one of those who feel so puny in front of the big bosses? Is it enough to get a diploma and a decent job to be able to prove to yourself that you're smart? Is being smart different from being intelligent? Endless questions and countless doubts are too overwhelming. Do you experience this too?

In my view, Smart can be proved by graduated from the best university in you country or get your dream job quickly.Smart can be proved when you're confidence and know what to do, even it's not always good result. Smart means you don't afraid to take the decision even all people doubt you. Smart is brave to make the difference and not afraid of what people think about you. YOu believe in your self can over all the problem you face and sure everything will be fine. Am I smart?? I don't think so,but I just wish I have a good luck.

@ redvakaurvaki Hello there! Oh, do you really believe that by graduating from a university and getting your dream job you can be considered smart? In my opinion, it takes more than that to be called smart. I think there's something extra ordinary about a smart person. Any one can get a college diploma;land on his dream if he strive hard and he does not have to be totally smart. For me, I could not easily assess a person whether he's smart or not. But I do agree with your idea that "good luck" is just as important as being smart too. Have a nice day!

Hello SAMKAT! Maybe those people who make a lot of money online have so much knowledge and information about online money-making. Probably it's not a good idea to compare yourself with them, right? I think you can also earn a good amount of money in due time. You just need to be extra patient in getting acquainted with different web sites and be persevering in learning various strategies and techniques in getting extra income online. In that way,you can start feeling that you're a computer-savvy! Good luck to you!

Hello there surekhrathi! I do understand what you mean. Some people are smart-looking. They dress well and they carry themselves with confidence and authority. I think political leaders and corporate officers need this kind of look. Otherwise, they won't appear credible to their subordinates. On the other hand, you mentioned about being smart in communication. Then I think you have the verbal-linguistic intelligence. If you're typically good in words and confident in using and articulating them, then you're a one true word-smart person! Actually, Howard Gardner a developmental psychologist developed this theory called multiple intelligences. So all people must have different strengths and intelligences, they just need to rediscover it and hone it to be able to become truly smart. I must say that you're lucky because you're able to tap the potentials in you. Good luck and I hope you get to finish your blog!

hi shengcruz i would like to tell you that everyone is smart in this world only the percentage of the smartness is different and this percentage of smartness is makes difference. and i am not agree with this thought that if you do not afraid to anyone even to your boss means you are a smart, sometimes such type of person is called as adamant or arogant even you can say fearless but being a dared is smart is not correct but as i told you percentage matters is right.

Hello ritzz07! Maybe you're right. Everyone can be smart in his own way. It's because we are created with the ability to think and to reason out. But I don't mean that if you're confident enough being with your boss, you're already a smart person. I am just asking if some smart people ever doubt themselves or do they feel incompetent some times especially when they face their superior. Are you always confident about yourself whenever you're talking to any body, be it your boss or your subordinates?

Smart is realising that you can make mistakes in your life but they are not the end of the world because you can change your circumstances if you want to. Smart is learning from those mistakes and vowing never to do those things again!

Yes, that's one pretty smart answer! But sometimes we tend to do the very same mistakes over and over again, right? Thus, does it make one dumb if he repeats the same mistakes? Or he might be smart but he's not just using his head?

Being smart is making decisions and being happy with them. Intellect and "smartness" are two completely different concepts. For example, and "intelligent person, can make smart decisions and not so smart decisions.

Hello there DavidLamblog. Oh, maybe that's you're opinion. But basing from the dictionary, the word smart is synonymous to the word intelligent. You must have a different view about being smart and being intelligent.

Everybody has there own opinion on what makes someone a smart person. There are examples everywhere of how "smart" people can be stupid and how "stupid" people can be smart. So college degrees aside ( not that a college degree means automatic stamp of approval to me cause it doesn't ) but that aside I think its kind of one of those Its all in the eye of the beholder kind of things. Most of the time anyway. As for me I consider myself A strait up Dumb S**t ( again, most of the time anyway ).

I've been told countless times that I am...I've represented myself well in academic competitions, got in the number one university during my time, got good grades and all but I'm not always wise. Nobody's perfect and to err after all, is human. Realization and understanding don't always come quickly, you become this pathological failure for a time before finally getting it. The smart thing to do I guess is to be forgiving of yourself and just to continue striving to become a better version of who you are...we're all limited but this life is about chances and changes which is what's great about it.

Hello myswirlyagelessmind! How are you? Oh, I am surprised with your answer. After stating all your achievements you still consider yourself "not always wise"? I wonder if you deem these two words- smart and wise as the same thing. For me, one can be "academically smart" yet be totally unwise. I believe being wise is different from being smart. A smart person is a combination of both constant study&practice and the inherent good genes. On the other hand,a wise person is the one who's gifted with the ability to discern and judge rightfully. I think it would be great to become both. Anyways, I do really like your emphasis about the imperfections of human and the need for the acceptance of his failures. This insight must be coming not just from a smart person but from a wise human being as well. It made me think twice about my life; should I still be asking myself about my achievements or should I now start planning about my better version of self? Thanks to you!

Yes, we do all make bad decisions in life. We may be smart most of the time yet dumb at different occasions. I do agree with you that being able to cope in different difficult situations and being able to get up whenever one stumbles down can prove how smart one can be. I must say too that it's important how one looks at himself. Having faith in yourself and considering yourself smart are the two intelligent choices of a smart person.

Hi shengcruz! Not all the time (lol). To be smart doesn't mean that you have to know everything or always have all the answers. But you don't shy away from difficult situations because for you there is always a solution. You have to be flexible and open to other opinions and learn from everything around you. Best regards!

Academically, I consider myself a smart person. I do have achievements since I start schooling until I graduated. But not all the knowledge we gain from school can be applied on a daily basis. I admit I sometimes feel that I am dumb because there are times that I make mistakes. I remember what my college professor told us during class discussion: "A smart person does not need notebooks to write his notes, instead he store what he learned in his brain, so that he could bring what he learned everywhere he go". Achieving a diploma for me is only a plus factor for us to convince our employers to hire us. Its one way on how they could assess our capabilities. But otherwise, hardwork is the best important in every job.

hello egram! Wow, that's one of the best answers I've ever read. I do agree with you when you said that not all the knowledge we gain from school can be applied in our daily life. this makes me think about the street vendors. These people survive because they are street-smart. No, they didn't have any college degree yet they are able to get by each day. It's their hard work and not the diploma that feeds them. This makes me realize that any person can be smart if he chooses to. It's their everyday struggle and constant hope and courage that make them outwit others. I think one's smartness cannot be categorized in school achievements alone. Being smart is not just being intelligent in school it's also being exceptional in life too.
