Career Advice please?

If you don't mind working with electronics try being an audio technican. It will get you a foot in the door to meet people and learn the ropes especially setting up equiptment which is good if you want to have a recording studio you can use while knowing what everything does. I know of one college in British Columbia, Canada but haven't been there myself so I won't recommend any.
