I bought running shoes, Brooks Green Silence, a three litre CamelBak and a Garmin 310xt to start running. The Shoes feel great and are eco-friendly, they are made of 75% (three quarters) recycled post-consumer materials. The shoes colors and dyes are non-toxic, much of the shoe is biodegradable and the packaging is 100% post-consumer recycled materials. I am trying 'Chi Running' but am running into some problems, pain mostly. Is running with osteoporosis a good idea? When I got the shoes I also bought insoles, SuperFeet, to place inside them for better posture however they told me they would have to permanently remove the stock soles. I didn't know if that was a good idea so I didn't do it. Should I have done it? I would like to upload pictures and videos but I don't know how or if I am allowed to. Anyone with advice or any success runners please add me as a friend.

I really do not know whether you should run with osteoporosis. Maybe you should ask your GP about this. Anyway, I think walking should not be a problem right? Maybe you can start by walking first, then jog slowly before running. I decided to go for a walk yesterday with my daughter. My four-year-old is very active and was impatient with my walk. She literally pushed me from behind to run. So we ran for a little bit. I know she does not have the stamina to jog for a long distance. Er... Neither do I. So it was perfect! Getting a new pair of running shoes is a great motivation to run, actually. It will encourage you to use it more often! All the best! Share with us your progress.

I want to keep a bit of a record of my progress. Should I keep writing discussions or start a blog? I never made a blog before.

There are some things I'd want to keep a record eg, my online earnings. So I started a blog on this. You can choose to make it public or keep it your own little secret and not publish it for the world to see. Blogger is as simple as it can get to start a blog.

I did not have any of that when I started running. I figured it was something I could do anywhere and for no cost. SO I just put my regular shoes on and started on a training program. I did't even know there were special running shoes back then! I started tracking my running on runnersworld.com and still do! I have also started a blog about the things I learn from running. Just start slowly and build up gradually, especially since you have osteoporosis. You do need to make sure you talk to your doctor before you do rigorous training though! I'd love to help if you wanna ask anything at all.. I'm no expert but I ran my first 5k two years ago.. have done 14 5Ks, one 10K and one half marathon since then!
