Hi Friends
I'm sitting here watching "The Sister Wives". I was away working when this first aired so am watching the episodes for the first time today. I'm real curious to know how you all feel about this show and polygamy. I, always open and accepting of different lifestyles, am having a tough time deciding how I feel about this and about this show. What are your feelings?

To each their own I guess. I have no desire to judge the relationships of consenting adults. As far as the legal aspects of this, the marriage(s) in this show aren't actual marriages as recognized by the state of Utah so they aren't breaking any laws by simply calling themselves married.

Hey X I agree that consenting adults can form their own relationships that work for them. It is very difficult for any two people to get along over a long period of time no matter how they try. I stay with a women who is in love with someone else . She does love me in her own way but her first concern is financial and having a place to stay but she does do a good job of helping me with my kids. As a single father with three kids it is almost impossible to find someone who is dedicated to me and she is the best so far I have found.
I am not so beholding to labels there are people with the label of married who hate one another. Until Godd brings some one who loved me.

That way of living is just wrong. i Can never accept it no matter how hard i try. All i know is that if my fiance was to even kiss another girl our relationship would be over for good. You are not supposed to share the love of your life. It is like cheating.

I am not sure why so many people are having such a problem with this. I mean, he is only "legally" married to one of the wives, although they all had ... spiritual I guess you would call them ... ceremonies to symbolize marriage.
There are many people that are married and have affairs, and some of these affairs result in children. At least this family is open and honest about what is going on, and they all try to make sure that everybody's feelings are considered, which is more than most people do. Also, there is a huge support system in place with all the wives and children, so they always have someone they can turn to if there is a problem, which many do not have.
The only real "problem" that I have with it, and it is not so much a problem but I feel it is more hypocrisy than anything, is that he is allowed to have multiple wives but they are only allowed to have one husband. That does not seem right to me, but it is what they have all agreed to and something that they believe in, so I really do not have a problem with it.
