how does mylot works?

all i know in mylot is just, i earn 0.01$ in every post i am posting here in this site. but can i still gain earnings whenever someone would respond to my discussion? also, why do sometimes my points got diminished without any notified reason. I was just curious. and one more thing, what is the number pertaining to beside my username? can someone explain this to me?

You're points are diminish, probably because one or more of your post was deleted or one of the discussion you responded was deleted. You can earn more by using the myLot search engine and doing task. Regarding about the number beside your username it is your ranking once you hit 100 you'll get your star. Once you reach 200 you can post smileys and emoticons.

There is NO set amount 'per post'. What you earn is calculated by a complex algorithm that rewards QUALITY of participation. See the FAQs for more explanation of how it works here: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14
The number next to your username is your User Rating. It increases when you post responses and comments in a discussion (but only counts the first response and the first comment you make in any discussion) and when one of your discussions receives at least one response. If a discussion in which you were involved is deleted, then your user rating will also drop. This is also explained in the FAQs: http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq11.aspx
You do NOT earn for anything anyone else posts. You only earn from what YOU post.

Firstly I also was confused during my iniktial days of joining like you. But now I got addicted with it and mostly respond and also post discussions and leave it. Earning part we need not worry because the technique used by the admin is not revealed..
Be happy that they are paying for your thoughts with your any investments with them.
