How can the government of the Philippines approve this Bill when the Catholic Church disagrees with it. Do you think its about time to have this Bill in the Philippines?

The state and the church are two separate entity, and one should not meddle with the affair of the other. Even the government has 3 branches, which are distinct and has separate powers, to check and balance. But still we cannot discount this because the Philippines is a largely Catholic/Christian country. I think its about time to have Divorce Bill in the Philippines. I am a deeply religious person and value my family so much and is in a happy marriage but i also believe that staying married is a decision of both spouse. There are so many reasons why two people stay together or decide to separate. And having a divorce bill cannot influence a good marriage from divorcing, nor can not having a divorce bill will keep a troubled marriage intact. This bill could help so many women who wanted to stay out of an abusive marriage, and i think with the divorce bill husbands would think twice before committing grave sins to their wives, and annulment costs is so high in the Philippines.

I don't know why the legislators are putting much effort on this divorce bill when there are other more important laws and bills that need to be passed. I hope that this Divorce bill will not push through since I believe that marriage is sacred. This is not just a piece of paper between two person but a covenant made in front of God. And divorce does not help families, this will greatly affect the children as well.

As always the church and the state are two different entities. Each one has it's own set of rules and regulations. What the state does, hopefully the church won't join in decision making and vice versa. But you really cant separate the two apart. I hope the Bill won't be approved coz no divorce in the Philippines makes the country unique. I dunno if it's the country in the world that doesn't legalize divorce. Filipinos value marriage, because it is believed to be sacred. With this Bill, then we are just one of them.
