I've been wanting to start my catering business for a while now but everytime I think its time, my finances aren't right. I have the time and dedication to put into it, its just that I lack the finances. I wanted to do it out of my home and start off making deliveries to offices for lunch and/or dinner. And maybe challenge myself to catering a medium to large event such a weddings or baby showers etc. Should I continue to push for it or should I hold off on it until everything is right? I love to cook and very good at it, what shall I do?

Thats a great idea to start a business! Given a chance, I also would want to have one but not like you, aside from lack of finances, I dont have enough time. I really do think that you could start it little by little. Its a good idea to start delivering food to offices then eventually, you can put up a catering business.

Thank you...and I believe I am going to get started on things. So far I have the menu but I am going thru it to make sure its right before I make them into flyers. Then I have to do a little networking and speaking to businesses in the area. Im excited and can't wait to get things going.

I think you should go for it. In terms of your finances, maybe you can loan from someone (or from the bank) just for initial capital then if your business grows, you can pay them. Like you, I also am thinking of starting my business but what's making me think twice is the capital. I actually got inspired after reading your situation and while writing this response. Let's go pursue what we love to do!

That's great and im gonna go for it! As far as my finances, im kinda ok with that for now because im going to start out of my home and make deliveries so I wont need a great deal of money. But when its time to expand and get larger then i'll look into getting a loan. As for now, im gonna get things started and be successful at it
