If dogs (or wolves or coyotes) howling gets you scared and keeps you awake, then you would never be able to sleep around here, except maybe during the daylight hours. It is normal for them to howl, and it does not mean anything sinister. It is just their way of communicating ... kind-of like us yelling across the street to say "hi" to our neighbors across the way. If you look at it like that, then maybe you will not be so scared and will be able to relax and get some sleep.

Many people here have dogs, but there are also wolves and coyotes that are wild around here. I live in the US, but I live in the country where this is a common thing. There are certain dog breeds that howl naturally, while others do not. For instance, our Huskies and Chows would howl when there was a siren (like a police or ambulance) in the distance that we could not even hear, because their hearing is so much better than ours, and the high-pitched noise bothered their ears. Even though this noise bothered these dogs and made them howl, our other dogs (Labrador, Pug and mixed-breed) were not bothered at all by the noise until it got closer, and then they would just bark rather than howl at the sound.

Maybe they're perceiving something and they're afraid that is why they're howling. You know animals can perceive things maybe 4x than we human can so don't mind them. They're just afraid as you. LOL!

Hi! Dogs howl for several reasons. They might be lonely or there is indeed something spooky. You have to be sensitive to your dogs. It is their form of communication. Sometimes their howling becomes a series from house to house. Don't be afraid. Just pray if you are.

I think it is all in your imagination to think that dogs are seeing ghosts. I wonder who told you that to scare you i think if we see something looking like a ghost it is some kind of evil spirit who has come to frighten us. if we tell ourselves there is no such thing it will help us to overcome such mind stirs.

Hi! So were you able to sleep last night? That happens to me once in a while. But it's like a coincidence. I stay up late and one moment I'll be hearing dogs howling which will make me stay up late more. It's really scary but at the same time it's annoying. I also think that maybe they are seeing things that scare them and they are probably ghosts or spirits, who knows. I'm just glad they aren't my dogs.

Well maybe the Moon is Full Tonight and that will Cause any Dogs or Wild Animals to Howl. Don't Worry as they can't Open the Doors or Windows and Climb in. Maybe late in the Mating Season to as Animals can still be in heat in Early June. Don't Worry and just to to Sleep and You are Safe.
