When to have THE talk with kids

June 8, 2011 8:24pm CST
Okay I have 5 kids and they range from 6-11. Our 2 oldest are girls, when should we start having the talk with them, and when should we have it with the boys? A little lost, and I have taken the approach of answering questions vs. starting the speech. Which way should I turn with this?

I am also was thinking of this, but since mine still have years more to go since my daughter is still 6 and my sons are 4 and 1..well i believe the right time would be during their adolescent.. when my daughter will have her "period" i guess that is the time to explain why such happen and talk about reproductive system and such. It sounds hard and embarrassing but i believe it will help if we will talk about it because i grew up and no one talked to me about it, i learned it from friends!

If you don't talk about they will learn else where. Who knows now days what they could be learning from friends/internet/videos etc.
