Sometimes I am thinking to polish my job resume or curriculum vitae to certain extent. The intention is just to match it with the job being offered in advertisement but not totally modifying it.However I always worried if someday one of the recruiter invite me for job interview then I need to practice to suit with my resume. How about you? Have you ever polished your resume? To what extent you did that?

Hi omchesunche!
I think it is advisable that we customize our resume to suit or match the job we are applying in. I usually would just highlight the details that are relevant to the job and to the requirements. I believe it is best to give a good impression at the employer just at a glance of our resume. A polished resume I think will give us a higher chance of getting invited for an interview.

I do update my Resume from time to time, as I continue on with my career. One gains experience which are worth mentioning in the Resume, for personal records as well as for possible future employment opportunities. Yes, of course, if I am going to be applying for a job, then I would polish and add in to my Resume those skills and experiences which are pertinent to the job.

Yes I do amend some working place experiences. Like I said I worked 7 years in an aircond company but actually is 1 year. Sometimes you have to lie to get a job.

Yes, I do update my resume. Most of the time.
Also, set your qualifications in chronological order so that the interviewer will know if your just acquired a skill or may have forgotten it.
My resume is currently posted on Jobstreet on pdf format.
I find it that more and more employer are using acrobat reader than MS Word.
