I remember when cell phones first came out, they seemed like a good thing to have handy in case of emergencies. Now they seem to be an essential tool for business and some people have started dropping their and lines. Then somebody saw the letters that were on the keys and created texting. Thenwe had to expand the cell phone to have real keyboards. People started textin and talking so much on cell phones that we have to pass laws to try to keep people from killing others because they use the phones while driving. Then lets make things worse, lets add games so people might have another distraction. Then they put cameras in the phones. So now cell phones will probably kill off digital cameras wich have killed off film cameras. And remember when you parents, aunts, and uncles used to show movies of their vacations on projectors? And then we gave cell phones access to the Internet and we're leting people store things on the Internet. This should be the end of PDA's and with loss of memory limitations, do we really need netbooks or lap top computers, or maybe do we even need desktop computers. For that matter, who needs an e-reader, just use you cell phone. If you can afford the rate. Why am I writing this? Today I sa an item saying that a new cell phone can be used in place of a creit card. So there eventually go credit cards and debit cards, and probably checksing accounts for thatmatter. We'll have one device we can use to talk, write, read research, visually record, and buy and pay for things with. All this with a device that othes have the potential to tap into, like say, the government. Can Big Brother be far behind?

Time are certainly changing. I grew up without a cell phone and never had any troubles. I remember when I was younger and first started working at a large hospital going out and purchasing a pager and pager plan. This was before the hosptial decied I needed one provided by them. My wife and I came up with all kinds of codes for communicating with the pager. We made up a sheet with numbers on them and what those numbers meant. Those were the days. Life seemed much simpler. The crazy thing about the cell thing is how much they costs along with the plans. The big compaines are certainly making some mega bucks off the end users. And certainly privacy is much more at stake then what it once was in the older days. It seems that any and all info can be found on the internet or in some type of database stored electronically. While they are great tools to increase profit and increase effeicency there is risk with them as well. Lets just hope that most companys are not taking shortcuts on risk prevention and security!

As long as you can pay for all the functions, it's great. The phones get better and cheaper, but the phone rates only keep going up.

I don't know if I understand you but I'm not trying to say that technology is infecting our lives although it is affecting our lives.

YEAH really smartphones ruining other devices but always remember: SMARTPHONE Gaming is far from xBOX, PSP and PC (would you dare to bring a SmartPhone as big as 14inch? LOL) / SMARTPHONE Video related thing is far from TV/LCD / SMARTPHONE Camera "as of now" is far from SLR Camera's but maybe sooner/ASAP it would replace ^_~ way much better I think. BIG BROTHER? I don't think so!

As they keep increasing the memory of cell phones, their picture quality should improve. Plus you can still upload them to a PC or TV to get a larger size. If your phone has GPS capability, then the government can find you if they want to.
