Referrals-Is it not right to post it on Yahoo Answers? Did I do wrong?

Speaking of referrals, I read that one of the methods of getting referrals is by posting the link on forums, Y! Answers & such. I had a very bad experience with Y! Answers recently. I posted the MYLOT link & one of the users actually posted a 'warning' telling others not to click on my link as it will earn me credits. He also went on to suggest that the quality of discussions here is very low. And the next thing I know, I got a warning email from Yahoo, telling me that I had violated the TOS. The email from Yahoo did not list any specifics, and I had to go to & fro getting them to tell me exactly what I did wrong. Then I suspected it could be the MYLOT link I posted, cos I have had the Yahoo account for years, and I have been posting responses on Y! Answers, but the link was the first question I had. I logged on & could not find my post anymore & that confirmed my suspicion. But several emails later, Yahoo still refused to tell me exactly what was wrong, only telling me that soliciting, adverstising, blah, blah, blah... something vague that they lifted from their TOS. I told them that I felt very wronged because if you go in there now, there are still heaps of posts with the referrals link!!!! Was it wrong of me to have posted the link on Y! Answers? I mean, I did not force anyone at gunpoint to register themselves with MYLOT! What harm could I have done? I'm really a rookie with all these forums & stuff. Can I have some advise from the MYLOT community p-l-e-a-s-e??? Anyway, I'm so pissed with Yahoo, I have started an account with Google & will cut down on my usage on Yahoo. :( Thanks in advance.
