Dear friend, You should not avoid your family in any way for any reason. Explain your boss your situation and remind him nature of life. Or make some time for your family when your dinner/sleeping times. Have a nice day!

@frogzy: Perhaps making some time for his family from his dinner/sleeping times wouldn't be very helpful, my friend...He faced harsh work environment every day in his workplace, and yet you are suggesting that he sacrifices his dinner/sleeping time as well? I think he would gone crazy in a month instead of three! I believe the best way is to confront his boss directly...If he has another work choice, I think he should put some thoughts about it as well...I am not saying that family is not important, but to sacrifice yourself due to other's (in this case his boss) matters is not a smart move for you life happiness... No offense though, my friend!

This is confusing. Maybe for while you can explain your situation to your famili. Hopefully you family can understand your situation. Addition, you can try to find another job. After getting new job, then you are out of work you do now.

@shoaibsherdil: Why on earth he should stops the holidays for those who don't appreciate his unethical activities? Or rather, you can tell us what unethical activities has he done? Also, if you are working in a goverment-supported educational institution I don't think he has any power to freeze holidays...Perhaps you can negotiate with him nicely about this particular matter, and if it doesn't work I think you can always whistleblow him and report him to his superior (Although I don't recommend this, whistleblowing is not a very good practice in an institution)
