I know I do. The first item I use that goes through a lot of battery usage is my digital camera. I would be broke if I did not use rechargeable batteries for that. But I figured why stop there? I now use them for my remotes, clocks, cordless keyboard and mouse. I feel this saves me quite a bit of money. What are your pros and cons on this?

I like rechargeable batteries. However, I have not had any luck with the brands of rechargeable I have tried in the past. So unless the rechargeable came with the object I don't bother. I try to use things that don't use batteries or come with their own charger.

I think battery makers are making a fortune with all the batteries we use. Though I have avoided these for a long time, I do still find the need for them, particularly with my battery operated wall clock. It's funny now that I have noticed that I don't really have a lot of use for them. Most of my stuff has batteries, however, there those types which only needs to be recharged themselves and not the AA or AAA batteries. However, my nephew is different. He is 3 and he has a lot of battery operated toys, and I think his mother, my sister-in-law is spending a little fortune with them on a monthly basis. I think they've settled into rechargeable batteries as well. I just wish the quality of batteries would last longer, most die down quicker than how they've been a few years back. Indeed batteries are important in our lives. Have a great MyLot experience!

The only con I can think of is they cost more but really thats not a con because in the long run they dont. I use a lot of batteries and am also a major nature lover. I use rechargeable batteries as well because they are better on the environment since not as many of them end up in the landfill right away. I am glad I do this because I use a ton of batteries.

Not as much as I used to, but I still have some batteries on hand. Not was many gadgets as I used to have in my house as well. Still there are a lot of times where a few good batteries here and there is something to have. Plus if the power goes out, I might need batteries for something like that, so I can have a flashlight to see my way around the house. You just never know when something like that is going to happen. Plus batteries for the remote control on the television, when I do decide to watch it. I would use the buttons on the television if I could, but they tend to get rather stuck a lot of times, so it is just much easier to use a remote. I think that is a huge fear for many people, to be without usable batteries in their remote control. Plus for various other bits and things. You never know where there is going to be an emergency where you might need some batteries. Therefore I find it prudent to keep some on hand, just in case.

Hi there grammasheshe, I don't of any cons to using rechargeable batteries, but are some pros. Like you mention early, you are saving money plus you are protecting the environment by recycling the batteries instead of the batteries ending up a landfill.

What you did grammasheshe (41) is really environmental friendly. We all know how toxic the battery and as a biologist I know the disaster it can do in our environment. It is also energy saving. I, myself, use rechargeable batteries in home.

I don't often use the batteries. I like to use the rechargeable batteries because it seems to be economic. Its electricity can last longer time. So if it is not necessary, I won't use the common batteries. I love China

My husband and I do use a few batteries for a couple of different things around the house, but not a whole lot. We'll use them for the remote, the flashlight, camera, and that's about I think.
