Redbox killed Blockbuster

I just started renting movies from redbox and it is very easy to use. It is pretty much a vending machine of movies. It is very convenient as it is open 24/7 unlike blockbuster but it doesn't create job opportunities so that sucks for many people. I'm in America by the way, is there a redbox somewhere else in the world?

I think redbox and netflix combined killed Blockbuster. Personally I REALLY preferred Blockbuster. There were awesome people there that I could talk movies with and I could browse and pick from almost anything I wanted. There used to be a blockbuster right in my neighborhood. I could walk there in five minutes. But the blockbuster closed. Now I use the redbox cause it's in the same place, but I don't like it nearly as much.

Yeah, they have some of those available, but I don't like them. I don't like vending machine movies nearly as much as I liked having a store to go into.

Red Box, Net Flicks and bad movies the year before, and mostly the economy All killed Blockbuster. Once upon a time there were so many good movies coming out all at the same time that one couldn't get out to see all of them . So one would wait for it to go to video or now DVD if one didn't have cable. But now, it is rare for there to be more than 2 good films out at the same time. So many people don't need to rent films.

Here in the UK we have something called LoveFilm which is probably pretty much the same thing. Blockbuster is so expensive here. In comparison to those other rental companies, you may as well go with the cheaper ones. And blockbuster charges £1 a night late fees. LoveFilm has no late fees.

I think Netflix got the first brutal blow in but either way I don't think the traditional video store is coming back. There is a Blockbuster still open near my house and a redbox at the grocery store next door...no one is ever in the Blockbuster and the Redbox always has a line of 10 people, it's wild! I've used Netflix for a long time now and I love the convenience and I use the streaming via Playstation a lot also, it is so easy to just pick out a movie or TV series I missed and watch it from home, and I love how it saves my place.
