Hilarious. Whoever spiced that together did a great job. I always loved All in the Family. He was down on everyone, so he got away with it.

So glad you enjoyed it. As for what is on TV these day it is mostly trashy reality shows which I never watch.

Of course I found the humor in it, it's Archie Bunker! However, Archie Bunker and "All in the Family" were never intended to "make sense", they were meant to MAKE FUN of a total bigot! If Archie Bunker were a real life person, of course he wouldn't be happy with Obama; he wouldn't have been happy with Clinton and he would have been horrified of the very idea of Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton running for President or of Sarah Palin be a V.P. candidate.

I didn't watch the video that you linked to this, but I have always enjoyed Archie Bunker. I realize that I do not agree with all that he says, but sometimes I think that his views of politics can be taken as a way that our government could change some.
I am sure that he would not appreciate Obama being President, but I for one do not mind Obama being in office. I believe that he is doing a good job with what he had to come into and with a group sitting on Capital Hill that do not want him to succeed in anything that he says or does.

I'm getting old. 30yrs.
My mother was a democrat. She hated Archie Bunker. Gosh, I miss her and the shows we used to watch.
What I took from this bit of humor is the more things change, the more they stay the same. Except back when Archie was making us laugh, no one ever considered how much things could change. But the change doesn't mean we have to find some grand fix, just follow Archie's advice.

The ironic thing about that video is that All in the Family was a satire of conservatives, meant to ridicule them and make people laugh at them. But the show was popular with those same conservatives because it gave them a voice. And now Archie is once again topical--it just goes to show that things go in cycles, even if this is an unprecedented situation. I wish we had more Mr. Bunkers and less Meatheads.
