what triggers insomnia and how do you deal with it?

Things like stress, diet, emotions, and your surroundings can cause insomnia. I know this from personal experience. I've had trouble sleeping ever since I can remember. I have, however, found a few things that help me sleep better. One being melatonin. It is a LIFE SAVER. It works after just thirty minutes and it's gradual, not like a sudden knock out. Another thing is to have vanilla milk (glass of milk, a few tablespoons of sugar, and add one to two teaspoons of pure vanilla) before bed. It always relaxes me.
