what did ninoy do?

there's no political argument here. i am only asking this question.
they say he fought for freedom. how? i really can't see any way he did this.
okay, i maybe biased. but please forgive my ignorance. since i also want to know what happened and who contributed to what, i would like to ask those who had some knowledge with how ninoy got to be an icon in our country.

I also don't know ..to think that they were crying for justice when ninoy was killed.
But what did cory did during her term?...did she open the case to solve the problem?
Sorry..but i don't see ninoy as a hero..peace to those who claimed ninoy as hero..this is my opinion and you can believed to what you believed in too.

well, all we have now are stories brought up by who else but his followers. whether they be true or not, we may just have to wait it out until the stories eventually wear out.
on the other hand, i once saw a documentary that ninoy was supposed to be chosen by marcos himself to be his replacement. maybe that was the reason he was assassinated by those seeking power. and i think they got it, if you follow what i mean.
