Have you ever lost an important item with sentimental value and never got it back?
I lost my special USB, it had photos of my fiance, his poetry, my school work from all my courses, personal information, plans for upcoming events, and music on it. So far I can't find it! I checked my pockets, places I last been to except for the store and store parking lot...
Which would not matter anymore since someone already has taken it if it happened to end up there and they probably deleted everything already and kept it for themselves.
I'm suppose to be a Guru in life but I feel that life is not treating me too well lately.

Ever lost something important?
I lost some of my babypictures during the splitt up.. I split up with my boyfriend and he held some of my pictures, tried to pursuede me to get them by making an appointment. I would have gotten them but he was to dangerous at the time to see..
I really regret that I didnt just meet him, should have taken some friends with me to be sure..
Have you thought of placing an add in a local newspaper to retreive your USB?

I've tried craigs list, kijiji, and facebook status hoping that one of my friends would be able to go out and search but I doubt it. I would call the store if someone had turned it in, but the likelihood of that ever going to happen in this dishonest world is unlikely. The person's just going to keep it and delete everything else on there. *Sighs*
I'm so depressed over this.

Well a couple of things every now and then. I had thought that I had once lost a textbook for school one time when I was about the fourth or fifth grade. I tore apart every part in my room and everything. As it turned out, it slid behind my other books in my desk and when I had taken out a couple of them to rearrange some things I had found it. I nearly had a panic attack when I tried to find it, because it was kind of an important book that I needed fairly often. That was some bad times for sure. So yeah, every time I can't find a book, I normally pull the other ones out, to as make sure they did not slide behind them in my haste to put things away.
Also one time, I lost my glass case, with my glasses inside. That was rather distressing, given the fact that I kind of needed glasses to see. I had an old pair that still worked well enough although not as well that I had to wear them. The other things that I lost were either all not that important or found rather quickly thankfully. Of course a lot of times, I "lose" things, but in reality, I put them in a place where I would not think to look, because that's not where they normally go. So yeah, its important to put things back in their proper place, as I'm sure that accounts for half of the things that people lose. Not everything mind you. So yeah, lost a couple of important things in my day.

I do not have many items with sentimental value. Maybe I'm just not sentimental sort.
Although there would be some personal items that I would care about. If it is missing, I'd probably be thinking whether it is sign of something.
My sister went on a diving trip and she lost a ring her boyfriend gave to her. She was totally devastated. Soon after, they split up. Now, she is happily married with someone else.
Anyway, I'm sorry that you lost some important documentations of your life. It may come back when you least expected it.

I hope that it would come back, if not... At least I'd be able to start anew and take better care of my things, even if that means making a backup copy and giving the copy to my soon to be husband. If I do find it in the place I least expected it, then I'd be damned.
But if I do not happen to find it, ahh well... *sigh* Can't mope around over it knowing there's yet to come in my life. People tell me that I'm still young (19) but I doubt it.
Though I lost the poetry (but I do have the other ones printed out when we were dating), as long as I still have him there'd be more memories we would be able to create... _
Honestly we barely have any pictures together since he had to move elsewhere for studies. So with that new USB, I'm going to take so so so so so so so many pictures of us rather than having 50+ photos of him + files. I'll even take up scrap booking seriously and make scrap books loaded with our pics and my creativity. _

Try to get the USBs that look like accessories that you'll have with you all the time. I seen a heart locket, and one that looks like a silicone bracelet online. I'm feeling a little better on my situation knowing it is not the end since I do happen to have some of the poems on there printed out but everything else is gone for good.
Sadly it's the USB I keep losing, and now I can't find it anymore - time for me to start anew and hope for the best.
With the new USB, I hope I'll be able to put photos on there of my life's adventures and give the backup copy to my fiance. At least he'd take better care of things than I would - which I have to admit. But yeah, like I said... You lose something, you eventually move on and think positive about what happened. I'm still trying to cope hoping that it would show up one of these days if it doesn't... At least I'd still have the one I love; the real deal who'd I be able to create more memories and good times with.

Last 2009, i was a victim of pick-pocketing. I lost my two usb (transcend and kingston) containing my thesis files and other important files. Plus mobile phone and 8000 Pesos (about 200 dollars) intended for my enrollment. I would never forget that day and I am extra careful this time. That day continues to inspire me to get engineering technology course to make some gadgets or tracking device to trace my things from then on... and the passion stills burns until today and i am just waiting for support...

I've been searching online for usb jewelry and accessories that you can wear on your body all the time (except in the shower of course). And I found some nice ones on Dino Direct. It sucks to lose things and never have them returned to you, I'm going berserk over this just praying that it would one day show up!
I really just want my boyfriend's pictures on there - it's what help me sleep at
night since I keep a slideshow playing in some frame and I look at him and sleep.
Pictures of him are the only things I currently have of him since he and I are living separately since he is studying somewhere else and I am too. Just seeing a picture of him Smiling when I'm sad cheers me up a bit inside but now since my USB of my life is gone, I'm gunna have to some how move on.
I do plan on getting this... http://www.dinodirect.com/4GB-USB-Lover-Heart-Jewelry-Memory-Flash-Drive-Gold.html
That way with the new memories I create with him, I'd be able to store them in there and keep it close to my heart where they belong, but he's the one who belongs close to my heart than that locket.
I'm trying not to beat myself up over this too much just because I lost pictures of my very very very handsome guy, so I'll just try to see this as a way for starting anew. :D

Dude it happens all the time.... trust me working at an airport I've seen people leave the most insane things behind. At least you care about the things you leave behind.

Yes, I lost two things. A gold chain I wore on my right wrist the reminded me of a former girlfriend and an engraved expensive pen that my father had given me. In both cases I went back to were the likely places I had lost them was to look for them but had no luck.

i lost my best friend's last gift to me before he left for Japan... actually he gave it to me when he came back here from a vacation in Japan, then he'll be leaving again in a couple of weeks. it was a ring brain twister. i loved it so much and i'd spend hours and hours in school hanging out in the library with him trying to solve it. haha (cant solve it in the classroom or corridor. people will stare sooo hard) i lost it in school. a friend borrowed it and passed it to others i dont know who. she should have told me first before lending it to others!!! i totally freaked out in school after a couple of days of searching for it and not finding any person who's holding it. (i suppose they were jealous that's why they didnt return it to me.)
sad, sad, sad.... :(
