I read a news report that President Obama is going to tweet personally in twitter for presidential elections 2012. http://www.mylot.com/w/newsarticle/25742727.aspx I am happy twitter is used for election canvassing also. Somehow I have not been using twitter. You have tell everything within 140 letters. that is the problem. To write briefly is difficult. have a nice day.

I remembered reading that yesterday and thought would he really post updates there or would it be a PR person. I suppose with so much craze today with technology he is simply doing what is eye catching. I personally do not use it for more then posting article links and marketing them, so I would not be on getting updates about his tweets. I suppose it is just another way of bringing forth the news.

I am following you here. Twitting personally does not mean "personal tweets" : it would be too reckless for a politician.

Yes, it is surprising why people do not use twitter in election campaigning. It is a great marketing tool used to market products and services. So, like any other business, it can also be used to promote a candidate for Presidential elections.

Yes. Especially in countries like China and India where the cell phone users number is considerably high this will have a good effect. How are you Amt? how is your job or new business? have a good day.

Yes, the promotion of a candidate for elections through twitter should certainly work. Social Networking is the new marketing mantra. As far as my job goes, so far so good.

I think that Obama is using Twitter not only to get in touch with the younger generations through social networking but also to suggest to the American youth that he is all about the youth of America unlike his opposition. I find that Twitter can only give and allow you to give irrelevant and barely interesting information in so short a word limit! I much prefer Facebook, group pages work in a very similar way; why not use them?

I believe that all messages will mean "Vote for me", and it takes less than 140 letters. I would like to know what will be his strategy concerning followers. I noticed that politicians were better followers than celebrities. I have followed some politicians with a fake twitter I use for paid tweets and half of them have followed back. I am quite sure they never read any tweet of their tweeps, so they will not report me for spam.

"Vote for me", is really all that needs to be said right. lol I was thinking the same thing that how can he say that is not already going to be said in the news, newspapers or TV. lol

Possibly they can send different sentences for achieving the same vote - but within 140 letters. 2012 is one year ahead?

Let's just hope he doesn't send out a picture of his ... :P Politics these days always get some type of bad publicity with using twitter, not only politics but celebrities as well. I don't find myself using twitter because it's usually on the news or in an article somewhere (the ones that are interesting and eye catching of course) lol. Plus I don't feel the constant need to update the world on what I'm doing, hah.

superpoint "I don't feel the constant need to update the world on what I'm doing, hah." But celebrities would always like to be remembered by people. common people are not like that. thanks for posting the first comment. have a good day.

I saw that on the news. I find it kind of hard to use Twitter.. because it's hard to say what you want to say in just 140 letters. I like Facebook pretty good.

exactly. for me also that is the problem. It is not that I write more. But when we are compelled to write only 140 letters it becomes a difficult thing.have a good day.

I do not use twitter as often as I use mylot. As you know one can send maximum of 140 letters message. The advantage in that is - brief still communicating fully. Linked in is another one wherein you can maintain contact with people in your profession --computer, teaching, hardware etc. other friends may able to tell more about twitter, I have an account. I am connected to NDTV, Hindu etc. whenever they post new msgs. I will get it. have a good day.
