'Cause I use my mobile as a phone to phone people and send messages, and my camera to take pictures of course :-) My mobile doesn't have a camera, bought it for that very reason, as many phones have very bad cameras, low resolution, not good enough optics to get good pictures, not enough options when it comes to changing lenses, filters, flashes etc. Don't think they'll ever got good enough optics for macro and telelenses in mobile, optics dictate there must be a certain distance between the lenses (the actual lenses inside the lens).

Hi rania, I would not trade my mobile phone camera for a digicam if it has at least 14 MP resolution and 10x lens zoom capability, automatic and manual controls when taking pictures. Sadly, no such mobile specifications ever existed, for now. Maybe, if in the future, then its bye-bye time for my bulky DSLR camera here.

much better quality pictures. more versatility and control when taking those pictures. as mentioned, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, scene selection, Macro etc. the ability to focus on a chosen part of the image, to adjust the depth of field, to change how much movement you can see in an image. a good amount of memory. I don't think that phones, which lets face it are designed to make phonecalls, can ever take the place of good quality cameras.

- Better image resolution - Higher megapixels - Larger image formats - Aperture control - Shutter control - Huge selection of lens choices like wide angle, fish eye, and macros. - The ability to stabilize shots with a tripod.
