So my mom bought me an Ipad 2 for an early Christmas present since I went back to school yesterday. I am still waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I know absolutely nothing about it and what it can do. I have the iPod touch 3g but what does the ipad do that maybe the iPod doesn't. Do you know what features it has and what it is capable of doing?

Trust me, you are going to love it. I currently have an iPad and I am considering upgrading to the iPad2. I take it everywhere with me. There are so many things you could besides browsing the internet. I have downloaded I have no idea how many apps into it. I have stored my music and I mostly utilize on the road in order to do my surveys or hang out on mylot. It is very practical. You are going to love it!!!

Luckily I never ordered it via internet, I actually went to the store and picked mines up, so I honestly don't know how slow apple is with their delivery system. I hope you enjoy it and let me know how you like it. I personally love mine and hope to upgrade it in the future.

We have the first generation Ipad at home. It is supposed to be useful for a lot of stuff, but the kids basically use it as a game console. They download a lot of game apps, and just play with it even when we are travelling. The Ipad2 is supposedly faster, and with the added camera for facetime to make video calls. I'm sure that if we got it, the kids will just use it as another console.

I know there are a lot of educational apps that I have been using for college. There is even a flashcard feature I use to save on paper flash cards. Maybe while your kids are thinking it is so cool you should make them use the flash card feature hahahaha Study Study Study!

Hey! The iPad is not just a console (it's not even a console)! It's SO much more: -You can surf the web with it -You can watch videos with it -You can read books with it + the applications for it are AMAZING!: -Weather apps -School apps (for learning) -Games (yes, also games) -WHATEVER you can think of! That's the true greatness in iPhones, iPods and iPads, the Apple Store.

Yes you're right Ramsesxlll! But you've got to look at it from a kid's point of view, and realize that it could just be another console with lots of great games.

I have no idea, as I've never used one. However, an Apple Store opened near where I life (not in the same city though) and I'm thinking of going just to play with one. I don't think I need to buy one, because it's just a giant iPod. LOL

Ipad 2 is exactly the same as iPod touch, just a bigger version. I have both gadgets and I love em! iPad 2 is better if you are going to watch movies, because it has bigger screen, it is also better when you are a gamer, since the graphics are better and you can play much more comfortable because of the screen. Personally, I love my iPod touch better, because it is very small and I can bring it everywhere I go. I use my itouch and iPad to: play games watch movies / series use as an e-book reader open multiple email addresses surf the net mylotting etc.
