Do you believe that the earth is heating up due to carbon foot-print?

Hello friends! I was reading a book by Michael Chricton named " State of Fear" and according to that the global warming is a hype and actually earth has a temperature cycle i.e. earth has hot eras and cold eras which is beyond the understanding of present science because of complex non linear inter relationships between various parameters. The net increase in temperature in last 76 years is not even 1 Celsius. Does global warming a real issue or will end up like eugenics (see this on wikipedia if you are not aware about this). I think we need to check this out. What about you? ANY IDeas?

were burning so many fossil fuels that there isn't no doubt in my mind the earth is warming up. the heat will eventually accumulate and get the earth hotter. the earth has already had plenty of time to do that.

Thanks for your response but I just want to share that the average temperature increase in the last 50 years is risen no more than 1 %. If it had been directly related to the carbon footprint then it could have been a much greater rise in the earth temperatures.

Hi,pankajgarg! I remember there has been a discussion on the global warming. In response, I recounted my attitude on this problem. I said it was sure that the global warming has caused a great deal of problem for the seaside countries, while in my mind the globe warming should belongs to natural phenomena. I do not think it has the direct relationship of carbon foot-print. We cann't denay that the increase of carbon concentration may slightly influenced the temperatures, however in anyway, the emission of the carbon gas is always going on at the any moment even before the life began! I am not a scientist, so I am not sure whether all the living species will produce carbon gas CO2, but the answer must be absolutely mostly. So one cannot predict how many moleculers of carbon gas CO2 were produced in one minute. So, the global warming can not be simply attributed to the carbon foot-print. The rapid development of the economic have consumed a lot organic minerals, and this may cause the more emission of carbon gas, while I don't think this will cause warming problem! Above all are my opinions. We all know the famous conference about the climate change of the the earth in Copenhagen. Frankly, I cannot understand why we have to tax on the energy for the carbon gas in the near future? Recently, there is one article disclosed that the sunspot will be in dormancy period. In 2020, the earth may be gradually cooling. Is it truth? I don't know. So, I think the global warming should belongs to natural phenomena. Do you agree with me?

The cophenhagan summit was not a success because it didn't provided the solution to the problem, even the tax collected can be used in any other purpose. Also there are critics which are against the global warming. All we need are the biased reports, not based on computer simulations but on real recorded values because computer simulations on environment have been seen to have errors as large as by 400%. thanks for your response!

I think it is warming and more than expected, but it is debatable whether it is from carbon footprinting or if it is just a cycle the earth has gone through many times before. With that said I see no reason to not try to live a greener life. It is healthier and cheaper and conservation can not ever be a bad thing.

If the earth is warming due to its own cycle then it will come in its cold cycle also. The ocean surfaces has not risen more than 1 cm and we say that the islands will be submerged due to global warming. I also feel that there is no harm in conserving natural resources and i am also an environment enthusiast but the research should be published in a right manner by telling the accurate resources of research.
