We all hate to hear bad news, all of the awful things that are happening in the world or in the lives of friends and family. Yet, there is a part of us that are compelled to really listen to it, trying to see if this is bad as it seemed at first impression or if it is worst. We all dread hearing bad news, but many of us, are pulled towards it. It is like that great horrific scene that you can't bear to watch, but you just have to keep taking quick little peaks.

Hi megamatt, speaking of bad news. I try to keep as far away from this as possible. I used to watch the news all day long, looking at all the wicked things going on in the world. Then I heard this message being preached about the things that you put in your mind are the thoughts that you dwell on. Saying if you hear nothing but bad things all the time then that's what will constantly be on your mind. Then I pulled away from those things. However, I still come across bad news sometime, but now I know not to dwell on it. Life is to short to dwell on wickedness. Be blessed. (changedthebadtogood).

For sure, even if you just loosely check out the news, you are bound to see some things that are going to rather make you kind of uneasy about a lot of the things that are going in the world. Then there are going to be many more things that you are going to see if you are going to stick around longer. And let's face it, if you do start watching the news, many people are going to be rather curious. A morbid curiosity yes, but curious and continue to stick around, watching a little more. Just for a bit more but a bit more turns into a bit more.
Then they go online to learn about the situation perhaps or whatever. It can cause a negative impact. Watch too much of it and all of the flaws of the world will be amplified. Granted, there are flaws in the world, but the news tends to stretch them out for this very reason. To keep people watching to see if things get any worse. When you think about it, the news media is just another business. Still it can have a severe impact on the way we think for sure. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Yes, the majority of us find bad new intriguing. I guess we just want to know if it's really bad news or just someone's perception of bad news. I think everyone has a different level for bad news. I would consider someone dieing in a car accident bad news. But a person passing away of old age not so much. They lived a good life. Best Wishes!

There is this human tendency because of which we are more feared of unknown things then the known things, no matter how bad the thing we know is. This is just because if we know what we are up against, we consciously or unconsciously prepare ourselves for it but when we don't know what we are going to face, we can't prepare ourselves for it.

Stated rather well. The unknown can really be a quality that is self defeating for many of us. And no matter how much that we know in this world, there is going to be a lot of things that are going to be rather unknown. It is going to be something that is going to lead to a slight intimidation factor and we are going to worry about what is to come. Yet, we cannot help but be drawn to the rather horrific things in the world.
There is a chance that no matter how bad they may seem, any knowledge is going to really lead to us to be on a more even footing with others. Of course, there are going to be other times where we are going to be pulled in way too deeply and thus the worst news is one that is going to warp our entire world view to a negative manner for sure. It really does frighten many of us in a multitude of ways but the fact remains is that its human nature that we cannot pull ourselves away from it. No matter how bad things get, we can't help but keep watching to see if its going to be worse. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
