I have a friend who i have known for well over 15 years. I mean he is my best friend. Lately though my best friend has really been acting up. For example he has been drinking a lot more, and he's really starting to worry me because alcoholism runs in his family. I am a great friend just as he is to me, I consider him like a brother to me, and I a sister to him. We have been through everything together and I don't know how to help him with what he is going through. Alcoholism runs in my family too but I have stayed away from it because of that, but now i can see what it doing to him. We have a lot of differences, but I hate to see him do this to himself. I am really honestly scared for him, and I never want anything to happen to him. It's gotten to the point that he is telling me that he's scaring himself. When he tells me this.....what do i say? Please anyone that has been through anything like this help me. I love him so much I never want.......please help.

If he says he is scaring himself ... then he knows he has a real problem. Try and get a profesional to do an intervention. This if done properly will get him to go for help at a clinic or with some other professional. And prayer ... lots and lots of prayer.

I wouldn't really know how to deal with these types of people. Whenever a friend acts up like that to me I just let him be, it's his life after all.
