Yah as the title says a Tablet pc was launched in india this month and is made available onwards, priced around $49 for now i.e. 2k INR, and eventually is planned to go for $35 or less by subsidizing it. It has a 2gb ram, 32 gb memory, Wi-Fi connectivity, USB data transfer, capable of running streaming sites like youtube. It will be using Linux and Android platform from what i have heard. It is made this cheap by the Indian government specially for the students and educational purposes. Amazing isn't it? i am going to buy it as soon it hits the market. What about you? :o

maybe if the quality of the product is good. I hope this is a break through for us students to acquire a low-cost educational tool. I hope it will hit the Philippine market soon.

The quality will be good, its subsidized by the government and it will be used by all the government people for their official needs, so it gotta be good! and i dont think you will find it on philippine market soon, as it is an Indian subsidized product, even if you do it will be probably overpriced. Not sure though, just my guess.

Anything is possible if there is a big enough market. And India is big! The West has yet to learn that by having so much choice, our items automatically become expensive. If we only had one type of computer, it would be that cheap without subsidies. But people would start screaming "Communism" and misquoting the US constitution for freedom of choice. One day India just might rule the world.

Haha, nicely said! The market is pretty big here indeed, and with the given price its most likely to go bigger.
