I have seen a picture of my friend who's smile is just so perfect. I think i have mentioned in one of my discussions that there's a twinkle in his eyes. That's what i call real happiness a smile that reaches ones eyes. There was a time when i thought i was happy but somehow my smile never reached my eyes. There's no twinkle similar to what i saw in my friend's picture and it made me ask myself why? Am i not truly happy? I found the answer. Behind that happiness, there's a little guilt. So i couldn't be truly happy knowing that such happiness might cause another person pain.

Hi, toniganzon. I believe that to really smile, it has to be shown in the eyes. The eyes are the windows of the depths of a person's deepest inner soul. When a person smiles, it does brighten up their eyes to perfection. I believe that if you smile when you are feeling very happy, your eyes will twinkle too.

Yeah and everybody believes the same i think. That's why there are fake smiles and real ones.

Well, there are a lot of times when a person really seems Happy but do you see the Twinkle is true? I think it often depends on who the people are, and what drives them. When they are around their family, especially their husband or wife and kids is that sparkle there? Many times people get too busy and fixated with things they forget about True happiness and sometimes forget to even really live.

That is so true. GEnuine happiness can make one's eyes twinkle. It makes a person's face light up too.

The eye is the mirror of the soul... The window of our deep down feelings. That's why, I often look at people in their eyes when they say something about their emotions. And I always have the impression, I could see the real emotion they have deep down, it may be different or the same with what they say. There are good "bluffers" though, poker face or poker eyes, but they might be able to fool others but not themselves. So it's a pain being buried deep down, and it will not be healed until it's pulled out and revealed. Such as you felt, the guilt, that would cause pain somehow. Good thing you were able to realize and was able to pull it out. Let it go. Celebrate life! See ya around. Happy mylotting! :)

hi, yes that's true, you will know when a person is happy or not, sometimes in the eyes you will see it and sometimes you will notice it when a person is blooming, but you can still smile even you feel the pain deep in your heart just to show to other people that you are ok and happy.

True but it's gonna be a fake one or a crooked smile.

Sometimes, we are happy but the level of our happiness varies. There are times that we get to be absolutely happy and feel like nothing's gonna go wrong. A smile tells a lot but the eyes tell a lot more. I remember my friend saying that when I laughed, I really seemed and sounded happy but when he looks at my eyes, he sees a little sadness. It was incredible of him to see the littlest details. I guess, when you wouldn't feel guilty about anything anymore, then your smile will really be as pure with your twinkling eyes.

It happens to me too. I guess children have more genuine happiness compared to adults.

the eyes are the windows to our soul, to what we truly feel. If in case we smile or laugh but when you deeply assess it, that it doesn't reaches the when captured by a photo, that simply means you are just pretending to be smiling or just maybe just there's something lacking in you.

True. In simple words, it lacks sincerity.

Sometimes you can see how a person really feels through their eyes. Specially happiness, you can see it in one's eyes, like your friend have. Even if the lips is not twitched into a smile, but when you see the twinkle in the eyes, you know that the person is happy.
