My daughter was diagnosed with ADHD almost a year ago. She has been on Ritalin and had some side effects and is now on Concerta. I was reffered to a specialist since we moved and we saw him yesterday to find out hes a counselor who cant prescribe meds. It was interesting talking to him and seeing him interact with her since I suspect its not ADHD or not just ADHD. He mentioned he thinks it might be something else and the relief I felt from some one finally listening to me and listening to her and seeing her was so nice. I look forward to going back and hopefully over time maybe getting a answer. The goal is to help my daughter succeed in life and feel good about herself. To help us and her understand why she does the thing she does. Unfortunatly he cant prescribe meds and so I was not pleased with her primary care doc since she is now out of meds and the doc said the specialist would prescribe those, that is a whole other discussion though.
