I just found out it's time to upgrade Firefox 4 to 5.0 already. The plug-ins and add-ons haven't even been upgraded to Firefox 4 yet! That's really harming my browser experience. And I've heard that by year's end Firefox 7 will already be out. This is ridiculous. Soon we'll be using Firefox 23... Agree, anyone?

Hi K46620..! :) I am using firefox 5.0 already since a few days after the beginning it released. And recently, i have been notified that there is Firefox 6.0 already :) Honestly, i think Mozilla really fast they have already launched the new version of Firefox.. And i am kind of person who prefer not to upgrade to a new version too fast.. And yes, that sounds a bit ridiculous to me if firefox using two digit version.. :) Anyway, have a nice day! :)

Yeah, I was upgraded to 6.0 a few days ago. Once again, most of my add-ons still do not work. I've heard they may be dropping the 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, etc. number system entirely...

I upgraded and now I am downgrading because it sucks so bad. I don't know what is going on with this stupid thing. It messed everything up. My address bar is in the middle of some other things and I can't move it back to the top. I definitely agree that firefox is getting bad and it sucks because it is the only browser I have ever liked.

Well everything is the same except that some of my add-ons are above my address bar and I can't move them below where they were. I even tried installing different older versions, but it still won't work. I don't know why, but it's really making me upset.

That's strange. My 5.0 looks exactly like my 4.0. Sometimes I'm tempted to go back to 3.6 where all my add-ons worked properly, I miss some of them quite a bit... Only problem is security issues... old versions are out of date.

I read in somewhere (don't remember where now) that Mozilla plain to release a new version of their browser each 6 months, maybe the Release of Firefox 5 confirm that, or maybe it happenned only with version 4 and 5. I got no complains about Firefox it works great for me till today.

I think it's every three months now. That's what I last read on a couple of sites. That's a bit to fast IMO.

It's not that alarming really if you actually stop to think about it. Firefox has always been free open-source software. Which in short means it's really easy to upgrade and modify if you're a software developer. And, software developers are having lots of fun, which allows them to pop out versions at an alarming rate. So in the long-run, as long as long as Firefox continues to be easy to upgrade, the developers will continue to do so usually faster then the add-ons and plug-ins can be brought up to speed.

"...developers will continue to do so usually faster then the add-ons and plug-ins can be brought up to speed." And that's a big problem for me. Some very important add-ons I used for a long time no longer work

Could be that it's renamed and starts back at 1.0 sometime... I don't know of many programs that get up to 23.0

I don't see much difference between Firefox 4 and 5 as a typical user. I like Firefox but I have been using Chrome for a long time now. I know Firefox is more powerful than Chrome as it supports addons and there are a lot of addons available for it. But I think using addons exposes us to security risks especially if it is not from a trusted source.

I agree. I just don't use Chrome much, even though it's almost as good now IMHO...

the thing with mozilla is that they are not releasing minor fixes so its a good thing , the more better the updates the better for us right so keep enjoying ,

They took too long to release Firefox 4, and now they are going too fast. Wish they could strike a balance. Sometimes minor fixes were all that we really needed...
