I need to get more fiber in my diet, as I have a family history of digestive & colon problems, I think it's time to get serious about trying to get some more fiber. So far I've been adding a few whole grain crackers into my diet for a snack at my desk, and since it's summer now one of my favorite high fiber foods is a bit cheaper - BLUEBERRIES! Mmmm!! What are some other good (and tasty!!) ways to add high fiber foods to my daily diet. Any yummy ideas?

Blueberries! Yum!!!!! And it's packed with antioxidants too! When it comes to fiber my usual take is veggie salad, which usually is a mix of lettuce, cucumber, carrots and tomatoes. Sometimes I put grapes and oranges. Then I use vinaigrette for dressing. Most of the time, and especially when I get too lazy preparing, I just eat oatmeal. It really helps with my digestion and bowel movement :D It's full of carbohydrates though so I see to it that I do a lot of physical activities to burn the carb :) Sometimes I also just eat fruits. There's also an exercise that you might find very interesting if you haven't heard about it yet. It's a yoga exercise that helps with the digestion. I think it's called stomach pumping. It also detoxifies our internal organs which I'm sure includes the colon. You can find some videos about it in YouTube. You might also wanna try it out :)

Get your daily servings of fruits. I think any fruit has high fiber content. Easy way to get fiber is eating apples. Just wash it away and eat it together with its skin. Also, beans and nuts have high fiber content. Also, add up to eating vegetables. Load up on something like carrots, asparagus or cabbage. These foods that I mentioned can be easily integrated to your diet.

I think you can get lots of natural fibers from fruits and vegetables, so you should add those to your diet.. You can also drink pineapple juice which contains lots of fiber. And it is really delicious too.

Start your day with fibre rich diet .Breakfast should be a bowl of oatsmeal with milk or whole grain bread or bran bread .Do you have dates available in your region ? If yes then consume five to seven dates with a glass of milk to get rid of constipation and suffecient dose of fibre.Green Beans ,Red beans ,broccoli ,apples ,raisins ,bananas ,apricots ,almonds ,lentils ,corns ,tomatoes are all rich source of fibre.Drink plenty of water and increase your fibre intake gradually.Eat more whole grain and whole grain products and fresh fruits daily.Snack on baby carrots ,raw vegetables ,dry fruits and green salads.Fibre lowers cholestrol levels along with anti constipation properties.

You already have some good tips, but if you simply add more grains and whole, fresh vegetables, you'll be adding fiber to your diet. Oatmeal can be eaten in cookies or cakes, eat more salads and try fruit smoothies (the homemade kind) to get more fiber. Blueberries are good, but so are apples, bananas and many dried fruits.

I usually try to eat more whole grain cereal, granola bars and oatmeal to increase fiber in my diet. They come in so many different varieties, so it's great not having to sacrifice taste for health. I also try to drink plenty of water and incorporate more fruits and veggies in my diet.

That's true we need more fiber in our diet. It is said that they serve as the broom inside our body, because they help clean out those toxins inside. This is being done through waste elimination. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables specially green leafy vegetables. You can saute some vegetables with some lean meats to make it delicious. However, see to it that you also drink at least 8 glasses of water everyday, so i would help also in easy waste elimination.

Pineapples! I would recommend that you eat pineapples in your daily diet, or even a few times a week. Pineapples have natural fiber, and still have that fruity taste you'd want in a fruit salad. You might want to try eating organic rice, (I'm Asian by the way), but be careful with the amount of consumption. Oatmeal is a great source of fiber, but as much as possible consume more of the cooked ones rather than the instant ones.
