I started to drink water and noticed that it helps me sweat a great deal. Even my cardio exercises now I still am sweating quite a bit. I feel that any form of exercise for toning and maintaining does not require sweating. So any exercise without sweat is certainly good for conditioning. If you would like to sweat greater then you will need to add a bit more vigorous exercising.

I have persoanlly never done yoga, I normally walk and/or job. I recently started doing Zumba, which is great and honestly I don't stop sweating. I have heard however that Yoga is great, I don't know how effective it is for losing weight, what I have heard is that it is great for relaxation. But even if you don't sweat any type of exercise is great as long as you maintain yourself active.

That depends on the exercise. "Low impact" exercises, such as yoga or Pilates, still do incredible things for the body. If your target is weight loss, sweating is a good thing (as it's an excellent sign of cardio activity) but if you're looking for underlying fitness, it's not so important.

Hi Grace. Your question is one that I have had to answer myself in the past couple of months. I am a lady of petite nature and have as such no weight problem but I do suffer from hypoglycemia which is a constant low blood sugar that I have to balance out all the time by good eating habits and only very little sugar. My exercises have always been Yoga and Pilates as I used to not be a great fan of sweat :-) 4 months ago I had my blood sugar and my cholesterol measured as part of my visa application process for the US and the numbers shocked me. I was high on BOTH counts and I ALWAYS watch my weight and diet. My doctor and I then had a talk and this is what he told me. When you on an average sit down at work around 6-7 hours pr. day you need to exercise 1 hour everyday. Of this exercise your pulse needs to be above your 60% heart range in at least 30 minutes. (when you exercise depending on your form there will be 3 categories of heart rate and in 2 of these you start burning fat) When doing Yoga and Pilates your heart rate never reaches this limit. This can only be done through a cardio workout where you will sweat. My response to your question is therefor. A sweatless exercise needs to be blended with a sweatfull exercise some time during the week or you risk having high blood pressure and high cholesterol without knowing it. I recently found a fantastic program which lets me do cardio in s great and fun way and then other days I do my Yoga. If you want me to share with you what programs I am happy to hear from you. Stay healthy :-)
