Suicide, acceptable or not?

Suicide runs in my family, it seems to be a choice of elderly persons when hope and life run out. I can see that conditions would cause me to make that choice, and I would hope that I could do this without damage to others. I don't want to leave a mess for others to clean up. Is it culture thing to find this unacceptable or the fact that it is against the law that would bother you. Could you do it? Or do you find it totally unacceptable for moral reasons? I feel very strongly that it is wrong to judge another person, after all who knows what pain they have to bear? Are there strong thoughts on this or do you accept that a person has the right to end their own life?

we treat our dogs better then we do humans, we would never let a beloved pet suffer what we expect our loved ones to.

Well...there are a lot of things I would consider when thinking of this. If I were in extreme pain..I would want the choice. If our pets are beyond help..everyone says the moral thing to do is the put them to sleep so they will not suffer..why can a person not decide if they have advanced cancer or something like that. I mean..I have seen people go that way and it is horrible. I also think there is a breaking point somewhere along the way. It is not something I can understand..and I hope I never do...but I think there is one and at that point..there is no control. I sure don't judge anyone..I might actually get the chance to walk in their shoes one day if I do. That can sure change a perspective.

Really the way you feel and give response is very nature. It is not enough by judging your response with a BR.

As far as for somebody who is old and sick, especially if they're dying, I can totally understand. But for somebody younger who is depressed, I think the person should be prevented at all costs. Chances are, they will eventually be happy that they were stopped.

This is a subject that has been kicking around for many years. I look at it very simple, when we have pets, dogs and cats, and when they get sick and are terminal, we have them put to sleep. I feel that is very humane. Now when it comes to people, we are not allowed to give the same courtesy to them. I believe that we as people, human beings have the right to choose our destiny just as we have the right to choose in our life.

Definitely not acceptable. Why do you have to do that, you can find place to start all over again, far from what ever it is that is bothering you. Ending your life is just like saying completely no more attachment to where you have started and so it is the same when you will just leave. Problems can be solved if you believe in yourself just have enough courage and be strong enough to face all trials. As we fall, stand again. Observe your surroundings and compare your life and I think you are much luckier than those abandoned and disabled and you will realize that there are so much to thank for in your life.

I do not accept that a person has the right to end their own life, to choose to cease their own suffering and escape from the troubles of the world. Sometimes it might seem that there is no exit from the problems, that there are no people who can support, there is no belief in future. I am afraid of the future. I have had some dark thoughts that life is worthless and difficult to endure.

When things get very hard for me, I just remember that if I don't face it now I will have to come back and face it in another life. Multiple lives are what keep me going.
