The prolonged spell of heat and humidity has unleashed an attack of viral fever in our city of ‘Kolkata’ which is usually lasting for a fortnight and is often accompanied by a host of serious symptoms. Apart from high fever, the most common symptoms of such a viral attack are headache, body ache, sore throat and chest congestion. There may be nausea and vomiting, some may have also hepatitis, gastroenteritis and skin rashes. In most cases, no specific virus can be traced and the common diagnostic tests for malaria, dengue and chikungunya are usually negative. Only symptomatic treatment with paracetamol to control fever is preferable. Strong medicines like antibiotics should always be avoided. As preventive measures, always take plenty of safe drinking water, eat light food, include plenty of vegetables and fruits in the diet, don’t eat oily food or drink chilled water. If fever persists for more than two days, then do not hesitate to take medical advice.

You are right that nowadays your chance of being ill is increased... especially i feel that it would affect more to them who are going outside for work or schooling.... my daughter and son both are suffering from cold and fever... and my daughter is also having headache... so it would be better if people would be aware of these things and would take precautions...
