Does your cat sit on the window sill too?

My baby always sits on the window sill and looks out the window. It's like he just looks at the amazement of the outside world, I don't let him out although he's been outside of the house before and seemed absolutely terrified. My friend's cats do the same thing, they can just spend a hour and half sitting on the window sill looking outside. How about your cat? Does he/she stare out the window for extended periods of time with this look on their face?

Yes both my cats do this and I installed a cat bed that attaches to the window sill they can sleep on and watch out. They love it! We get birds and lizards in our yard and they love to watch them through the window. They love to bask in the sun there too and get nice and warm while they watch everything going on, and then they usually fall asleep there after a bit.

I have a secure porch they can go out on, and they spend hours every day out there, but they also sleep or watch out windows a lot, and I have cat trees in the back window they can lay on and look out - but they mostly seem to sleep - probably the heat.

My cat also loved to sit in the window sill and just look for hours on end. Sometimes he will just sit there and chatter like crazy, seeing all those birds out there! My cat is an outdoor/indoor cat so he can go out, but he still likes to be in the sill while inside. It's a cat thing!

I have 2 cats my female mawmaw would live in front of the window. She is found sitting or laying on various ledges of windows during the day. Tink my male he would rather be suction cupped to me during the day unless the front door is open then he will lay watching out. I cant keep the front door open in the summer as its just to hot but spring, fall, and winter in Florida I can keep the door open when the sun is shining. Neither of my cats go outside don't want them getting fleas or get in fights with a feral cat as there are quite a few in our neighborhood. So even if the storm door is open to bring in groceries they will go to the door and look out but do not try to go out. They are well trained.

That must've been difficult to train them to do, my baby is so adventurous.

My cat used to be an outside cat, and it would be really hard to get her to come in other than for food. But now there's a male cat hanging around outside that waits for her to come out so he can attack, so now she sits on top of her little cat castle thing and stares out at him, almost taunting him :P
