CALABARZON, an acronym for CAvite, LAguna, BAtangas, Rizal and QueZON, is in the southern part of the main island of Luzon, Philippines. CAvite is famous for the island of Corregidor from World War II. Tagaytay is as close to paradise as one of a kind. It is considered as the second summer capital of the Philippines. LAguna province has some freshwater lakes, hot springs, rivers, and spectacular waterfalls. A must see is the Pagsanjan Falls. BAtangas has some fantastic beaches. Anilao, Batangas is a world class diving spot with lovely beaches. Another must see is the world's smallest volcano, the Taal, which is in lake. If you want a good view of Sierra Madre and want to unwind in a cold, good and quiet place, you may go to Tanay, Rizal. Quezon is known for the Pahiyas Festival. It is celebrated to give thanks for a bountiful harvest every 15th of May each year. Quezon is extremely popular during Lent also. Thanks to my friend who suggested me to write something about region 4a. My dear mylotters, I love to hear your experiences in region 4a.

I'm from this region angelo, specifically Batangas. We are known for having aromatic coffee, tablea and "panutsa", too. Are you from CALABARZON, as well?

Small world indeed. Say, speaking of "burdang taal", I had my wedding gown made there. It's cheaper than those in Manila and of better quality too!

What a coincidence. My wedding gown, my husband's barong, including the gowns of secondary sponsors and flower girls are all from taal, batangas. I really love my gown... burdang taal is really beautiful. You are right, it's really cheaper than those in Manila. :)

Hi whengcat. Due to its close proximity to Manila, Laguna is a great getaway. I love the hotsprings in laguna as well as the buco pie. I also like the Church in Nagcarlan, Laguna. It reminded me of the teleserye "Kampanerang Kuba." Not to mention the fashionable slippers in Liliw, Laguna. :)

Me and my wife had been to Quezon, Tagaytay, Laguna, and Cavite. We're frequent visitors of Tagaytay since it's a very romantic place. We even had our pre-nuptial photo shoot there. We plan to visit that place in the near future.

Yes, I agree with you. Tagaytay is such a romantic place. It has been one of the favorite destinations due to breathtaking view and cool climate. The Picnic Grove is one of the places to view the majestic taal lake and volcano. My brother and sister-in-law also chose Tagaytay to be the venue of their pre-nuptial photo shoot. :) The pix were amazing. By the way, have you been to Sonya's Garden of Alfonso, Cavite and Caleruega of Nasugbu, Batangas? It is near the Tagaytay vicinity. They are such wonderful places to visit. :)
