Is there such a thing as healthy dessert?

I can't think of any. Everytime we eat at restaurants desserts are so deliciously tempting but i know that they are not healthy. The only ones that are healthy are fruits but they usually are being served with whip cream. I think it comes down to a matter of choice - to eat or not to eat dessert. For me, to not is to end up sucking on some mint candies for free on the way out of the restaurants...sick of it. Are there any healthy desserts that can be made at home?

I think that there are a lot of healthy desserts out there. You could have the fruit salad or even the vegetable salad. I know someone who makes vegetable ice cream and it tastes good.

i've never heard of vegetable salad as a dessert as it's usually being served here as or before an entree. Fruit salad is good though without whip cream. i've also never heard of vegetable ice cream but the cream itself is unhealthy. thanks.

try fat free sugar free ice cream and it is healthy too. us diabetics must eat healthy or die.it tastes just as good if not better than the too rich icecream does.

I am very much addicted to all kinds of dessert. I often go to restaurants which serve buffet lunches and dinners, and they have a variety of dessert items too. Most of them are sweety creamy stuff. I have to control myself not to have those too much. They can aggravate my blood sugar levels. I then try to stay with fruits too.

gicolet use fresh fruit in salads or whips with fat free cream , thers lots of good recipes for healthy desserts try the net and choose what sounds healthy. I love raw fresh fruit with sugar free cool whip and do notell me its uhhealthy as I know better. we use in our diavetic diets and do not believe every thing Dr. Oz says either as he can be wrong too just use common sense.

Desserts are usually sweet and rich and of course they could not be healthy if eaten at big quantity. At any rate as when you eat out and ordered dessert you don't really get big portion. It is always just a slice of cake or leche plan or whatever sweets which you can't even finish because the main course has already filled you. Well anyway you can always make a healthy dessert at home but I think to make sure your dessert is healthy then just eat fruits.

What about fruit salad? Fruits are healthy and natural, no added additives and preservatives in it. In the Philippines, we usually have fruit salad for dessert, a mix of mangoes, watermelon, papaya, pineapple, young coconut and other tropical fruits! You can try it, delicious!
