Anyone tried PediPaw nail grinder?

I want to learn to properly clip my new dog's nails myself. I was planning to use a nail trimmer that I already bought but of course I worry about the quick. My daughter is trying to get me to buy the PediPaws grinder instead because she thinks it is kinder and will be safer. I am VERY skeptical about how this thing would be very effective and, so far, I've seen quite a number of negative reviews. If you have any experience with this or any other nail grinder, please share?

A couple years ago I got my son and daughter each one for their dogs a Christmas present. I also bought myself one. It was a big waste of money. All our dogs were afraid of the noise it makes. You're better off using a conventional nail trimmer.

Thank you so much, dlpierce
Your opinion is the same as the other two above so I can see that this product is pointless. Noise was one of my concerns and you've all said it's really loud. I know, for sure, with my dog that will be a huge problem and I have NO desire to frighten him when I've tried so hard to help him build his confidence.
