What Would You Do If a Bank Offered one hundred dollars extra..

for starting an account with them and leaving your money there one month. My husband and I thought of doing this, but after carefully asking others about it, they said that the bank staff are rude and they will not help out the locals. A local business burned down and their name was on the insurance check but they refused to cash it. Hubby and I decided that one hundred dollars was not worth being hassled by telemarketers because the company is known for selling all information. The staff is known for being rude. We would rather be with a bank where we are treated with respect.

Wow!! Personally that is uncalled for and unacceptable for Bank personel to be like this. I know if I was to ever encounter something like this, I would not be Happy and finding out who to make a complaint about. And when you get offers like this, make sure and read some of the fine print because most of them say only 30 days but when you read the small print they penalize you as well so it would have to be 6 months to a yr. to gain the $100 without penalties.

There are many other banks that offer some sort of incentive, even if it's just a fraction of the $100.00, these banks are usually more friendly and better with customer service. I don't think I'd bank with them at all unless it was say a savings account that I needn't talk to them too much about, and provided I'd still get the $100.00

If all that I had to do was leave my money there for one month, then I would certainly do it. It seems like that deal would be worth it, providing you would not be losing interest on the money for your old account. It depends the amount of money that you're talking about, I suppose. I don't think that I would be too concerned about the attitudes of the staff, because at the end of the day if I was only putting my money there for a short amount of time, and I was getting free cash for doing so, they would be the least of my worries and I would be able to move my money within a month anyway.

Hi Lindaharding627, if there is no penalty for closing the account after one month, I dont mind leave the money there for a month. I think that is a very good deal, even if it means to face rude employees. The bank is possibly not paying the employees enough, and they are overworked and unhappy. I think long term relationship with this kind of bank is not possible, but then, taking advantage of a chance to profit is good.

is the money guaranteed by the state? How much do you need to put in? You could buy another mobile for less than $100 to avoid the marketing. If you are leaving the money alone for a month does it matter if they are rude? you will only deal with them twice. If this was UK I would definatly go for it provided $100 was a decent return on the amount you have to put up but risks and practices might be differen't where you are?

That's a nice offer. Perhaps too nice for a stable one. Maybe they're offering that because they'll bankrupt soon. This kind of offer are too dangerous to rely on. Better stick with a bank with a credibility.

With all that seems to be happening with the bank you mentioned it doesn't seem worth it. And it sounds kind of scary with what the bank has been doing. Some banks though offer this and are genuine about it. Maybe you can check around and see if there is another bank that has a similar deal that you trust.

If the staff is rude it can be tolerated some times, that to only if the bank is providing service on time without hassle.but if the staff is rude and the banks service history is also bad then i will not make bank account with them even if they offer me 1000 dollars.
