Does anyone have any reviews about this website? I've heard people say it's a scam and all that but it seems like it has undergone some drastic changes. I'm trying to find a good place to put my poetry so that it can get noticed.

I also used to submit poetry to Poetry.com and I also received several invitations to conventions, forums and the opportunity to be published in one of their anthologies. Not really sure how all of that worked out since I never paid for the books and sometimes I wondered if they would accept any submission regardless of quality because they accepted everything I submitted. I know I have talent, but some of the stuff I sent in was pretty bad on purpose, just to see whether they would still publish it. Anyway, I don't know whether they're a scam, but I would advise you to be careful. I publish some of my poetry on my own site, so I don't worry too much with the competitions like Poetry.com

Congratulations. They didn't accept everything I submitted. I had several optioned for publication, and I did buy the books, but I also had several that were not published. So to answer your question, no they didn't publish everything. :D

Poetry.com used to be run by the International Library of Poetry. Until Lulu.com bought the site, they would accept virtually anything that was submitted to them. A poet named David Taub submitted a gibberish poem called "Flubblebop" using the pseudonym "Wergle Flomp" and received a letter from them saying it had been chosen to be included in one of their anthologies. The site was pretty much a way to sell amateur poets products with their work on them in the beginning. It looks like the site has changed hands again since the last time I visited. I don't know anything about Newton Rhymes, LLC, the new company that seems to have taken over. There is not much information about that company online.
