Hiking close to home

I did some searching online for mountains in my hometown and found a few. I couldn't resist and had to go for a hike. :) The first one I did, you could hardly tell you were at the top, there wasn't much view, but I still enjoyed the hike. Coming down, I found the path for the eastern summit, which was very hard to spot. The trail was pretty well overgrown, and seemed like more of a bushwhack. There were no trail signs or blazes at all along this trail, which made it pretty tricky. I did get to the summit, and there was a very nice view. It is nice to have a good hike right in my hometown.

:( bummer... But perhaps there are wooded trails or something that would still be considered a hike? Or is it all farmland where you live? Some spots have rail trails that run right next to the railroad lines that can be fun too.

I have done lots of hiking in my younger days. In my lifetime I have climbed three mountains. One in Norway, another in Australia which was called Mount Warning and the other in New Zealand up in North Land. I love New Zealand for hiking which they call tramping. Now I live in a flat area and have a disabled son in a wheelchair I miss hiking. I also miss cycling. We can only manage wheelchair friendly routes. I went to Colombia and had to pay some guys to get my son's wheelchair up a steep bank. The bus ride back there was very memorable.
