Have you ever completely misjudged someone's age?

This happened to me today while I was out running my last lap. My husband and daughter were already at the park. I came up to a guy jogging and thought...hey, he's hot. He saw me and hit on me (rare occasion lately what with being married and almost always having my 2 year old with me). I thought the guy was about 25, so I asked him. WRONG...17. They did not make 17 year olds like that when I was in high school. I am pretty sure that I would have noticed if they had. He also misguessed my age. I am 30. not afraid to admit it. He pegged me at 23. Looking 7 years younger than I am after having a kid...I will take that any day. Luckily, it was not too embarrassing. I am not going to have to change my running pattern or anything like that.

Hahaha! That's some weird thing to be in, I mean, it's okay to short-guess someone's age by 2years or so, but the age differences are so huge! Anyhow, that also happened to me a few months ago, well actually for years. We have this friend

Ooops! Something went wrong and my response was cut. Anyhow, we had this family friend who we know for a long time and thought that she was in the same age as my mother's, even younger. My mom is 60 and we thought she was around 50's. Only to find out recently, when we were talking about beauty products and skin care that she was actually 75! What a mindjob! She really looked so young!

Yeah! Isn't that great? It's really something that I wanted. She merely told us that she was more of a 'skin care' person and not a 'make-up' person. I think it had a great impact on me. From then on, I wasn't wearing too much make-up anymore. :)

I want skin like that. To be able to look 20 years younger than you are is absolutely amazing. She must have a really good moisturizer. I did a similar thing with one of my mother in laws friends. They act so much younger than their age each is hovering around 80. I just assumed that they were closer in age with my inlaws than they were. I figured out they were older when they were talking about not just their grand kids, but their great grand kids that were around 10 yrs.

Wow i would love to look 7years younger than i am now hehe and yes i have misjudged people's age a lot of times. To be honeat i am not good with ages, i cant put an age to the way people look, seriously. Anyway i have this japanese friend and one day she introduced us to her other friend. Thought we were of the same age, i started asking hr about school and stuffs but then she goes and tells me she's done with university!!!! Then i was like, not meaning to be rude but can i ask you how old you are, she replied 25 . I ws really shocked coz i thought she was like 19-20. I felt kinda awkward but then the good thing is she took it as a compliment

Having lived in japan, I know how hard it is to judge ages on them. It must be all the omega 3's and 6's that they get in their sushi. I think that it was the sheen of sweat all over my face that hid the small wrinkles I am getting that tell people she is not 25 anymore.

now if only I could get my self to take those fish oil capsules that have so many of them I would be set. as it is, unless you buy the really expensive ones they taste nasty, and I would rather not subject myself to that. Also, living in central illinois is not conducive to good fresh fish, especially sushi grade tuna or salmon.

Yes, that had happened to me a number of times, misjudging the age of a person. The first time that happened was with my Professor. He was a very good teacher, very impressive. So, I thought he would be about 35 or 40. But, later I found out he was only 27. Impressed me so much. A very well-educated person.

I wish some of my professors had been that young...wait no i don't I do not think i would have concentrate as much on my studies as I did. I do find that well educated people seem older, maybe they just appear that way.

This happens to me a lot, I often misjudge someone's age especially those above 30. There's this dude from work and I though he's only in his mid 30's but it turned out that he is alread 45. Good thing I kept my mouth shut.

I'm always astonished at people like that. I also know some who can guess people's ages just by looking at them and hearing their voice. Cool people.

I am normally a pretty good judge of age. No more than 5 years off. This time I was 8 years off and he was just a kid. Definitely jail bait.

This happened to me when I met my hubby just the opposite way around. I was sitting on some stairs eating candy and he asked me for some and of course being nice little me I gave him some. Then we started to talk I thought he was 21 and we continued talking andI gave him my number. Then the next day he asked me how old I was and I said I'm 18 and he said really I thought you was 21 (weird because people always mistaked me for being 16) and I was like really I look that old lol. He said it was just because of the situation he thought i was older than 18 and I asked him how old he was and he said 26 and I was like you lie. I thought you was 21 and he started to laugh. So two years later we are still together and have started a family :) .

During the day of my 21st birthday, I went to see a movie with a friend. I really do not remember what it was, but I know that it was rated R. I got carded to see the movie. My friends found this hilarious. I of course got carded several times that night, but that is to be expected.

Yes, i've misjudge a person's age as well, I thought the woman's age is 29, But it turns out, She was only 20 years, Maybe the way she dress up, and dress, that makes others think she's older than her age..

my rule of thumb, the more visible make up a person has on, the younger they are. In my experience, as women mature they go for a more natural look which means they may be wearing a ton of make up to hide the flaws, but it will not be bright or really dark colors.

Very flattering huh? I am not very good at guessing a person's age. I am also always mistaken as someone younger I have a small frame and I am really vain about my skin. I apply sunblock everyday. I also put on anti-aging cream after taking a bath in the morning and before sleeping at night.

It's better to be misjudged as younger , than older than your actual age. So, how did the guy reacted when you misjudged him as 25? I bet, he is happy, because he thought you to be 23 too and perhaps as single. It could have been his chance to befriend a single lady.

LOL. Seems like many og us have mijudged other people age. I usually judge someone's age by the amount of wrinkles they have of their face. I miss judged my teaches age once. I thought she was 40+ but turns out she was 22 then. She got so offended that i got send to the principal office. And the principal offered me some cookie. It was as though she was rewarding me.

i'm asian and i almost always misjudged age of a person who is racially different than me. i have a friend who is white. He also often misjudged age of asian person. I think if we're racially different we would have a hard time knowing the age of someone.
