MS Dhoni has been fined 60% of his match fee as India maintained a slow over-rate in the second Test against West Indies in Bridgetown, while the rest of the team lose 30% of their match fee. The match referee, Chris Broad, imposed the fines after ruling that India finished three overs short of their target. This is Dhoni's second over-rate fine in Tests this year, having been docked 60% of his match fee after the Cape Town Test against South Africa in January. If he is pulled up one more time in any test till the first week of January 2012,he will miss the subsequent Test India play. So all of you please feel free to share your comments here.

Its make very big problem for INDIA , by low over rate dhoni can get ban for two matches if in last matches have same over rate. Hopes that Dhoni incraese over rate so safe from banning.

The Indian team were three overs behind the schedule according to match refree Chris Broad. It is the second time this year that Dhoni has found himself in for this matter and if caught for the third time he will niss the next test. Its kind of sad to hear things like this but rules are rules. Earlier only match fees used to get deducted and ti did not mean to much to the team. But with the rules getting stricter the captain finds himself in teh limelight. Its a good way to remind the teams that if they faulter thrice in the same year the they will have to play a match with their captain sitting in the dressing room. Lets hope it does not happen for the third time or else we all know the consequences..

I am not sure as to the reason for slow over rate. However, if it was purely due to field placements, I think 60% is a bit too high figure. And banning for one whole match is even worse. May be the fine percentage could have been lower.
