What's a animation program eith wine that's freeware or opensource?

Hi I like to use animation programs to make short cartoons, the cartoons I make are a few seconds long. My problem is I use ubuntu 8.04 on my old dell and I want to get something that's freeware or opensource to work with "Wine" have any clues? :) thank you for your comments!

for 2d animation, open source still don't have a good program, one thing that i know is synfig

but i don't think its mature enough for profesional environment. For 3d animation there's a mature program called blender 3d... it's mature enough to be used in a profesional environment
