what if your parents don't like the person you love., Would you follow your parents or your heart?

My whole family did not approve of my husband at first but I did not choose a partner for them. I chose a partner for me. Let's face it. Most parents think nobody is good enough for their child. Hubby and I eloped because we love each other. We have been together nine years. I know in some cultures the spouse is still chosen by the parents. In my case my family was believing rumors. Now they know my husband and he is part of the family..

It's great that you decided to stay with him even that your family didn't accepted him at first. But your parents only didn't accepted him or they forbid your relationship? My mom parents didn't liked my dad at first too, because of his attitude. But they let their dating because they knew it that my dad could give a good future to my mom.

I would find out why they do not like this person and think about what they said. If they have valid reasons then I may want to take another look at my relationship but if they just don't like them on a personal level then I would follow my heart.

but what if you like very much the woman/man and your parents dont like him/her.?? Just like the story of the poor man and the rich woman.. the woman like very much the poor man but the woman's parents dont like him because he is poor..

If that happened to me, I'd try and talk my parents into my decision. I'd tell that what he means to me and what a good person he is and how happy he makes me. Well all parents want is for their child to be happy so I guess my parents would agree with me.

I would reconsider this person, because me and my parents have a great relationship and I don't think that they wouldn't like a person without a very good reason. I would see that maybe I was wrong about the person. I'm really a non emotional person, so, I use the reason first. I'm not the kind of person that become blind when is in love with someone.
