Its been always happening in our workplace where seniors always nag on younger employees and makes incident reports when the young ones answer back to them. Isn't it unfair cause other would say that younger employees shouldn't answer back as a show of respect to people whose older than them?

It is insecurity per se when a senior nags a junior. They see the potential of a junior taking over and when a junior has substance it is hell to have such seniors around them. I have gone through that when I was a junior but retorting is not the solution. Lying low is. Because when one is powerless it is best to defuse a situation and wait for the right opportunity to strike!

Juniors have no choice specially when they are powerless what better way than to just diffuse the situation and wait for an opportunity to set matters right. In the meantime one can attempt to win seniors trust.

Most often, its the juniors who humble themselves just to avoid the collision, but others can't just do it and turns to be not respectful when can't no longer hold on to their patience. There are really people who tends to be abusive of their right to be respected when reached seniority years in a company.

I've always found it amusing how some co-workers can abuse this incident reports when it's only applicable within the workplace. I always make it a point to let any co-worker know that incident reports aren't applicable outside the workplace and that I can always find another work besides the one I have now. This almost often works with arrogant co-workers, you should try it.

Actually it occurs in our workplace. That's why new employees do not stay long in our company due to seniors who thinks they can't be corrected by new ones. Most of the seniors can't leave the company cause they can't find another job easily since they're over-aged already. Our boss, though have been reported regarding the attitude problem of her senior employees, still do not make action to reprimand their unrighteous acts. She (the boss) is so kind to everyone to the extent that she even fear these seniors to left the company cause she trust them so much and can't let go of them.

Well that's interesting. Sticking with the seniors because of fear is something that won't occur most of the time. Everyone in my workplace seems to play the game wisely. They what wrong moves can turn ugly and lead to incident reports. One thing I don't like about company rules, though, is they prioritize employees sitting on a higher position even though they say it isn't so. This happens, too, and it's ugly to begin with. This is much like what's happening in our government, political climbing.

Hi Ludyvel04! I know it is not professional to nag to our co-workers, he or she maybe old or younger to us. The word "nag" is so degrading. There is a better way to resolve work-related problems, we can follow ethical standards because we are educated. Sorry, for those people with unprofessional attitudes, maybe they need to upgrade their skill understanding and rapport between co-workers.

You're right! She is in her 50s and thinks that she should be praise as always as can be. She came from a multinational company and she thinks that she deserves more than her other colleagues. I think she needs a lot of attention cause she lacks of it in her own family. Thank you for commenting.
